This seems like a great way to delete what seems to be one of the main weakness of these trucks used for serious offroad work which includes deep water crossings. Lots of threads here about wet ADD's which seem to never be covered by warranty because you're using the truck offroad which seems to be a no-no. I'm sure the ADD box costs as much or more than this mod. Seriously thinking about this - thanks for the work you've put into it.

So for us with 4x4, what would keeping it constantly engaged do in terms of our electronic transfer case and turn knobs in the cab? Obviously if the hubs are unlocked, the diff won’t be spinning, but what about the driveshaft? If you turn that knob into 4high, the ADD kicks in, correct?

dumbass question, but just confirming before I purchase in the next few days.

The driveshaft is en/disabled by your 4x4 knob, so yes. This kit gives you control of dis/connecting your wheels from your CVs. Your ADD and transfer case would work the same, if untouched. Each CV is turned by the tire while in 2WD, one of the CVs is disconnected from the diff by the ADD and the other turns the diff. If 4x4 is off and this kit is installed and in Free mode, there is no movement of the CVs (preserving boots), front diff and front driveshaft.

true, but I’m still replacing that POS when ECGS sends me my new clamshell lol.

@05Taco4x4 man I’m seriously more impressed the more I think about this kit and how beneficial it is on multiple levels making this 2.7 of mine more rugged like it’s overseas counterpart.

Question: watched the video and it seems he only spent so much time trying to separate the inner cvs from the shafts and recommended to make it a lot less time consuming to just buy new shafts too?

I had originally offered the kit without the shafts and inner joints. It's very difficult to separate the outer joint from the shaft, if you ever do- I stopped offering it as an option. Relative to the price of the kit, they don't add much extra and give you the option to sell your existing axles to offset the costs of the kit. Separating the outer joint is just miserable and messy, makes the experience no fun.

I purchased the kit a while ago and got everything together recently on my 3rd Gen LT truck. Since I was building axles from scratch it made sense to buy this set-up. Used +3.5 axles. Took apart inner CV which is easy and messy Outer CV just pops on. The hub assembly, seals and adapter all fit just fine. I test fit everything on my rig and it looks to be good to go. Just waiting on shocks to finish her up. I was really excited to get this kit and many thanks to OP for offering it. I see no issues with compatibility on 3rd Gens. Everything fit together. Top quality parts.

Dang how am I just seeing this. Just had my new axles assembled with the existing outer and ordered new hubs through you. I guess there’s next time. Is there any strength issues using these instead?

The outers are OEM as are the hubs, you can use your own axles as I did due to LT set-up. Short answer would be no strength issues

Did more reading into this, aren’t these the same from a 1st gen taco? I’m heading to the direction of 37s. Has anybody ran these with 37s?

As the stub is same dimension and better material, whatever a 1st Gen can take these can take.

I can offer again after this supply fiasco calms down, cost prohibitive for a while now. Thanks for your interest.
