I plan on adding a 2nd and possible 3rd battery in the future. In the meantime, I've built a sleeping platform and need to power a CPAP machine for a night. What type of battery do you use as a house battery? I plan to use it as a stand alone, charging it at home and taking it to my fishing hole under the sleeping platform to power said machine. Later I'll install it under the hood. I'd think lead/acid would be a non-starter. Recommendations?

What kind of Cpap do you use? Alot of manufacturers like ResMed actually have battery guides.

I have a ResMed s10 and I just googled "ResMed S10 power consumption" and the first link was a PDF document that ResMed released with power consumption numbers and recommended battery type and size depending on how long you're out.

For instance my resmed s10 uses about 1.09 Ah at my pressures and they recommend 13AH capacity for 8 hours of sleep, and that also has a 50% buffer in.

I have a Phillips DreamStation. I'm pretty familiar w/house batteries in boat applications, they were all lead/acid deep cycle types. Assuming I'm gonna go from a stand-alone battery to mounting under the hood, what type do off roaders prefer? Gel, AGM? I'm leaning towards mounting on passenger side.

When I was running one battery I would get 6-7 hours, now with two batteries I get 12-14 hours. I bring a battery charger and use the 115 Volt outlet in the bed to recharge this when camping more than two nights.
