2017 TRD Off Road - Side View LED Lights

Changing out my side view mirror covers from Quicksand to black matte covers. Ordered OEM covers but they don’t fit because of the LED turn signal lights.

Thinking about removing the LEDs, but wondering if there is anything I need to do to the electrical/wiring once removed.

Any one try this?

 

Sounds like you ordered the wrong covers. They should fit the same as what's there now. I'd say just leave them unplugged but they might throw a bulb error

 

Back to your first point for a minute @Saturnine; do you know of any oem black matte covers that fit with the LEDs? Im not able to find them. The covers I recently acquired were a Christmas gift, so seeing what my options are.

 

I'm not really sure how to answer that. If I'm right, you have aftermarket sequential turn signal mirror lights, yes? If that's the case, any OEM cover with that option will fit. Something like an sr cover or whichever model doesn't have side mirror turn signals won't fit. If that's not what you're talking about then I have no idea

 

Ok. I understand. Thank you. What I’m saying is that I am not seeing any OEM black matte mirrors covers available for side mirrors with LED turn signals, like mine, so was asking if you have seen any. No worries.

Back to the original question; the black covers I got look like a fit, if the LED turn signal light assembly is removed from the side view mirror. If anyone has tried this or something similar, and has any tips, would love to learn more.
