Ok, just got my 2010 reg cab 5spd 4 wd back from the dealership and heard the squeak from the throw out bearing. My question, after reading many threads here on TW is, what has been everyone's experiences with this? Only have about 5 days with the truck, clutch seems ok, not going to try and do a clutch job myself. At 66, I bought this as a fun get around truck. Don't want to into a 'money pit.

I had a bad clutch squeak on my 08 shortly after I got it 6 years ago. Eventually it just went away. Every now and then I'll hear a faint one when I push the clutch in. My advice, just drive it like you stole it :burnrubber:

The 5 speed manual is not known for release bearing issues in comparison to the ugly design of the 6 speed manual in all the threads you have been reading .
I am wondering if you can bring it back to the dealerrship you purchased it from as most dealerships offer at minimum a 90 day warranty with used cars .

If you cant live with the noise , see if the dealer will help you out

    LCE headers, Intake spacer,
Gearcruncher, thank you! I didn't know that it was all 6 speeds I was reading about. I bought my truck in a private sale, not the dealership.
Only went to dealership for having the frame checked and dealership had it for 3 months waiting for a regular cab frame. It's a sweet little truck with 105k,and I intend to use it as a daily driver. When it warms up, I've got a long list of mods to try!

It might be your clutch fork. It was for me at least.

Kmart6, I'm still learning! Never knew about this. Thank you for the info.
Do you think the Lucas moly type 'permanent lube' grease would last?
Waiting for the next warm day to get under the truck and check it out.

I can’t speak for how long it will last. I’m sure the sound will return, but it’s nice to know that it’s not serious. I greased mine a month ago and it hasn’t returned.
