Decided to start a build thread before it gets too late. These build threads seem like a good idea to log your trucks journey for yourself, let alone to share with others. So here she is: AhsokaTaco! (Named by my 7 year old daughter to embrace our love of Star Wars).

New truck looks nice, didn't realize the new sr5 doesn't have the fender flares.

10-21-2020:

First up was the all important window tint. It was nice having my tint guy able to come to do the install while I was at work. 25% in front, 5% in rear.

 

10-21-2020:

Straight from work to Warner’s Muffler in Oceanside, Ca to get my Magnaflow muffler and exhaust tip installed. Starting the process of deleting the exterior chrome.

 

10-22-2020:

TRD Pro grille installed. Easy and fun install that completely changed the look of the from end for the better!

 

10-25-2020:

Installed the Lamin-X yellow fog light vinyls installed on the OEM fog lights.

 

10-28-2020:

I received the raptor lights that were supposed to come with my TRD Pro grille and got them installed.

 

10-30-2020:

Snuck in an appointment at 4Wheel Parts in San Marcos to get my new front struts, wheels, and tires installed.

11-13-2020:

Ordered some RotoPax that will be going on my RCI bed rack once it arrives. I purchased one water pack and one storage pack along with two Lox pack mounts.

 

11-28-2020:

Received my Plano 52” rifle cases. I order them from Amazon and saved a good amount by doing so compared to the Plano website. The plan is to put both on the Prinsu cab rack. One for recovery and roadside equipment, and the other for extra storage and emergency go bags for the family. My daughter wanted to have a new place to hang out for a bit!

 

12-4-2020:

Let the Black Friday goodies start rolling in! I received my Me-So Customs Flip Fob and Gas Hole as well as my AJT Designs black emblem overlay for the steering wheel.



First up, the Gas Hole. Super easy, 1 screw install on the inside of the gas tank door. I hate letting the cap hit the side of the car so this mod was the perfect thing for me to pick up to eliminate that.



Next, I installed the AJT Designs emblem overlay. Super easy and straight forward. Just clean your current emblem with an alcohol wipe, and stick on the new one with the 3M on the backside. The interior chrome delete is now on its way!



The Me-So Customs Flip Fob was something I was very excited to get. I love the contrast of white with black and I got white to symbolize Ahsoka Tano’s lightsabers from Rebels. It took a bit of patience to get the chip out of the stock key but wasn’t too bad. Then just $5 at the dealership for them to cut the new key and I was good to go!

 

12-10-2020:

After a a process that was made harder and longer than it needed to be, I got my Prinsu cab rack installed along with the Plano rifle cases up top. I took the rack off maybe 3 times before I had it right. One of those times was because I broke a bolt off in the roof being an idiot rushing and using a hammer drill. It was an expensive lesson after all was said and done at the body shop to remove to broken bolt out of the roof. I also installed the awning brackets to be able to add my Yakima awning up there. I also added the Tacoma_Twins paracord handles to the driver’s side of the Prinsu rack.

 

12-12-2020:

I received the Me-So Customs Method Wheels center caps to replace the ugly grenade caps. What a difference these make. The rims take on a completely different look for the better.

 

12-17-2020:

Super excited to receive the Bumper Shellz bumper caps in black. I’ve been wanting a way to get rid of the hideous chrome bumper on this all black truck. Now the only chrome left on the exterior to take care of is in the headlight and taillight housings.

 

12-24-2020:

I wasn’t planning on installing my Yakima awning on the Prinsu until I had the rtt on the RCI bed rack to adjust the awning accordingly. But I got bored and antsy and just decided to install it now.

 

12-27-2020:

I got a great deal on some bed stiffeners from @Tttacodan. I was really impressed by the quality of them, especially for about half the price of competitors. It was a little nerve racking drilling into the truck for the first time. But the instructions Dan included were perfect and very detailed. Now I’m ready for the added weight on the bed walls with peace of mind!



Using some tinsnips, I was able to trim my bed mat no problem in just a few seconds.
