    Good Morning Folks

With all this fresh snow I get to try out my new 4wheeler and plow. Ya, we got real snow. Not this fake feel good internet snow.

The temps here are in the high 40s. All the snow has just about melted, except for a few thin sheets of ice on some of the shaded back roads.

Good morning TW. Hope y'all had a merry Christmas with your friends and families. Kids and I got stuffed and had a great time together albeit way too short.

Home improvement work for me over the weekend...actually it never friggn ends. Been in this house going on 23 or 25 can't remember as I'm getting seasoned. :DStarting to simplify things and get it ready for low maintenance so I can enjoy retirement without having to worry about the house. Built a covered front porch about 20 years ago over a weekend with some buddies - extends entire front of the house. Damn. Can not believe it stood this long. Far from square and held together with screws. Got about half torn down and should get the remaining tore down this coming weekend when my son gets back home. Going from 40+ foot deck to around 10/15' and using fake deck planks this time round. Getting rid of as much wood as I can. House is pier and beam construction so also getting the front rock skirt torn down and replacing it with that 4x8 hardi sheeting like I have on the other sides of house. Then on to painting...my least favorite part of this! But the kids will get dirty helping paint over the summer. It will cost $$ me dearly but we'll make some great memories getting dirty together.

Y'all have a great Monday and week ahead. 2021 is just round the corner.

Yes sir I hear you. Most of my interior is done but one more bathroom to retile. Finally got a slab poured for my covered parking and working on enclosing that next fall. And yep on the patio - much better than decking. Guy that poured my slab said he'd get me a good deal on that. Every little bit helps!

    Good luck on your improvements.

We've been slowly re-doing things to make our senior years easier. Last year did a complete redo of a bathroom. Put in a walkin shower, no more stepping over a tub. Driveway was asphalted. No more gravel. A lot easier for snow removal and melts the ice faster.
Few other things are planned. Hopefully materials will be easier to get in 2021.
Also hoping that these improvements will be plus if we have to sell.

lots of folks on vacation this week. the guy who's in the process ahead of me is out as is the guy next in line after me. so basically nothing new coming my way and no one to turn it over to even if there was work coming in. my boss's last day was last week and the new guy isn't up to speed so i'm basically here to field any questions from him and the customers just to keep up appearances that we're actually making progress on stuff.

i do have to do year end inventory but that's like a one day thing.

one hour in and I'm bored...

who's going to entertain me for the week?

Good luck to you too sir! "Driveway was asphalted". That's a dream I'm saving for but my driveway is long so may end up doing it in parts. Start at garage and work back to entrance. My entire place sits on a caliche hill so materials are here!!
