I was going to install my Ko’o gas cap holder from JT designs and the bolt was in there so tight that I stripped it (even after using WD40). I’ve been trying to find out the part number for it or the size of the bolt before I drill it out. Help?

    Thanks in advance.8AF7E2C5-AA76-4497-AF9E-69BB6C674944.jpg

    Isn’t everything on a Toyota 10 mm?

Grab it with a small vice grip and twist. Use pb blaster not wd40.

Yep, PB Blaster works great, just let it sit for a while.

I had the same problem but stopped myself from completely stripping the screw head. I got a ph2 bit and the longest ratchet I have and turned. It came off but you have to hold the gas cap door.

Unfortunately I went full stripper mode and destroyed that bad boy. Yeah, I noticed that the door started bending and it freaked me out.

Thanks everyone. I’m gonna get some PB blaster today and small vice grips to see if I can get this bugger out.

You can also cut the head into a flat-head screw. But I tend to use needle nose vice-grips in those situations.

Also, WD40 doesn't do anything in these situations but make the head slippery. You need penetrating oil. And PB Blaster and/or Liquid Wrench are the best of the penetrating oils. (IMHO)

WD(Water Displacement)40's purpose is to displace water from wet tools. It is garbage at everything else.

If you load it up with pb. Let it sit a bit. Use a small vice grip. Not a needle nose but a normal one just smaller. Make it as tight as you can as long as you can get it to clamp. Hold the door firm and twist it right just a touch then left. You will 100% get it out. Then go get a stainless bolt to replace it. Or get the original phillips head from a dealer.

The replacement PN for the screw from Toyota is 90154-60039

This happened to me and I stumbled across this thread in search so figured I'd post the part number!
