Lol yeah the hitch would cause problems, the receiver would be fine.

I've hit mine on rocks, logs, clay walls etc. Haven't had a traffic one yet...

Yeah...just looking for one that allows me to retain the BSM. I've gotten quite attached to that feature.

I'm waiting on Apogee's offering this March. Until then, I'll just pussyfoot it around here.

What do you need bsm for? You'll have a big honking steel bumper back there :D

3-piece skids, BAMF Siders, Lift 4"front, 1" rear. VHF/UHF Radio, HF mobile radio.
Bought a stock 2018 TRD off-road, and started using it fairly hard.
    Skid plates? yeah, that's #1.
Sliders? yeah, that let's you corner around rocks with confidence (I like my BAMF sliders).
A little lift?. Yes, but not too much, since I do a lot of street and freeway driving too.
Bumpers? Well, if I tear one off, then I need an upgrade.
Never had a clearance issue with the front bumper.
The hitch receiver catches most of the rocks in the rear.
Teaching my son how to drive in the desert, went through a ditch with a little twist to it, and one end of the stock rear bumper came off like cardboard.
Now it's held on with gorilla tape while I shop for a steel rear bumper.

I've been using RCI armor for forever, stuff is built like a tank. Their rear bumper is an easy install and will hold your entire truck on a rock. Also gives better departure angle compared to stock.
