Awesome. Still wish there was a way to keep the spare in that position, Envisioning if there is a way to stiffen the twist of the frame from the hangers to the bumper mount points, taking advantage of the stiffness of an aftermarket steel bumper.

Take a look at post #2486
There is no way to do it from the inboard side of the hangers

    Heck yeah!!!!

I don't know if V1 or V2 is on my truck, but have been happy with them. V3 would be sweet since the moment arm effect would be reduced. Now if there were a way to mount a 34 spare in the OEM location with the hangers tied into a cross member that would be a killer application.

Unfortunately the Tacoma is a study in compromises, can't have it all

    What about pie?

Unfortunately, most vehicles make tradeoffs. Toyota made quite a few with the Tacoma. Honestly, how difficult would it be to have a vehicle with the capability of a Unimog, handling of a Ferrari, fuel economy of a early 90s Honda civic and price point of a used Geo.

On a more serious note, I'm still happy with the hammer hangers on my Tacoma.

With enough money, a big enough lift, and a 220 volt 170amp mig welder.....anything is possible. @EatSleepTacos and #theRandyfabgarage has proved that correct many times.

I just purchased Deaver Stage 3 springs. I was looking to order this set up but am not sure what I would need to keep the same ride height? I’m moving away from Dakars.

    thanks!

All I can say about your truck is......

What springs do you have on it now? If you are upgrading to Deaver stage 3, how much weight do you intend to carry? The hammer hangers will "roughly" give you about 1/2" more in the rear. If you are going to have an even swap with the deavers and stay at the same height according to weight, the extra 1/2" most likely will not be that noticeable on that beast of yours. The lead time may be 60+ days with V3 HH's, new shackles, and a crossbar but it is wellllllllll worth it. Especially if you will be driving with a lot of weight in the rear.

Now this is how a TRD Pro should look and come out of the factory looking and built like. BTW, Thank you for your service. Semper Fi!
What is your wheel and tire set up? Those rims are killer.

Hh version 3 do not lift
Just the Hh base kit, reuse stock shackles and since you have the spare on the bumper, I recommend the cross tube option.

    Thanks

Bummer, I just received my original cross tube a couple weeks ago. Worth the upgrade?

My cross tube has been installed over a year of hard use, this is the only mark on it from touching something.

To hit the cross tube you need to be doing some really weird rocky stuff that also may rip off your stock bumper and would definitely get you hung up on your stock tow hitch. If you had an open order I’d say yes, but with one in hand it’s not worth it.

What if I wanted to upgrade to your shackles? I like the serviceability of yours plus they look much better built. Thoughts? And thanks for the reply! Awesome work btw!

Thank you! If you want the shackle, sure, get the 3.6" is my recommendation.
