I’ve had this soft topper on my truck for a while now, and it’s really hit or miss if the front panel wants to stay down between the cab and bed.

it came loose so bad one morning on the way to work that it ripped all the Velcro off the truck and I had to stop on the side of the highway and pull the entire front panel off or it would just flap around in the wind and slap the back window.

i recently moved the topper closer to the cab to try to alleviate some leaking issues and now it pops out every time I get on the highway.

I’m about tempted to pop some eyelets in the part that goes between the cab and tie it down to the frame.

I bought it used, it was made for a new Colorado, so maybe there’s a design difference between the Tacoma and Colorado that’s causing the issue?

many insight or help would be appreciated.

Probably because your softopper wasn’t made for your truck model. I’ve had two softoppers now and never had an issue with the front window coming off, and have only used Velcro.

kinda what i figured. I found another post with a similar problem and used one of the ideas there. I had a bunch of 1/4" steel bar in the garage so i cut 4 pieces of it and stuck it in the flap, it seems to be holding nicely now.
