I remember that day like it was yesterday. Ok, my sisters best friends Iroc had no reverse. This made parking and navigating a bit challenging. At least for an 18 year country girl in a packed city. Anyhow after some friendly bikers physically picked up the car, pointed the nose in the direction needed we were able to avoid reversing and get into a parking spot. So now we are late and have to run 4 or 5 blocks to the venue. Just as I am handing my ticket at the gate, I hear the best sound from a guitar I have ever heard. Followed by 3 hours of face melting energy. Unbelievable. Its hard to describe but very similar to Jerry Garcia when he was on. Its a sound that grabs you and wont let go.

At this point I will only talk about the cool performance characteristics instead of life or energy because... politics.

If they can get efficiency, battery life up, charge speed way down, and time between charges up it's definitely impressive.

Everyone crawls before they walk. EV's can't be perfect out the door. It's improving always.

I mean its been a thing since 1908 and LeMans and other series have been doing hybrids for quite a few years now. We have computers in the palms of our hands now.

Are you saying the cab mount chop is not needed? Only ask because I am considering one right now, but I am not certain that will actually be the location of the rub when I get my new tires put on. (285/70/17 on TRD SEMA wheels)

I’ll repeat what I’ve said elsewhere here. The UCS is activist, but its bias is toward environmental impact. That’s not “political” if you’re asking an honest question about environmental impact of hybrids and trucks and whatever. You can disagree with the methodology, which in their studies do account for mineral extraction. But the UCS is a reputable group. I’ve never seen evidence that the people involved with UCS are shilling for Big Battery or Big Hydrogen or whatever the equivalent of Big Oil would be. Often the counter examples people cite here come from petroleum-financed think tanks. I’ll read better and more recent reports if people can furnish them.

Cool, can you cite those sources? I’ll read them. The UCS studies do try to account for lithium mining, which is a messy affair.

Nah you can look them up if you can find a biased source like the UCS. Especially when you say I'm incorrect in consumer turnover yet didn't elude to a citation that would prove that wrong.

I didn’t address consumer turnover in my comment. Also, I feel that sometimes when making a point it isn't necessary to be specific to the point of explaining every nuance but it still shows the general idea with a broad stroke.

Do you know who's the largest clean energy investor is...... Biased towards the environment can be very political enter Al Gore. They could also be wanting to push an agenda of the environment because they have a deep disdain for petroleum products. Just sayin.........just like since I've been a kind those scientists have been telling me that the world should of froze, burned to death, etc.

Thats it for me nothing more to say about this subject.

Yes, and I clearly spoke to other parts of the passage. Sorry, next time I’ll cut and bracket the quote since it was hard to follow.

But sure, it makes sense as a hasty generalization that more turnover begets more vehicles which in turn creates a larger “carbon footprint” or whatever, but the reality is much more complex, including the age of the old vehicle, the respective power plant, the replacement vehicle, etc.

Kinda if you only view consumer turnover as the typical person buying/leasing then getting rid of every few years and not avg age of the vehicle and the used market.

So Tesla Model X has this thing called celebration mode. It's neat. Now back to your regularly scheduled bickering.

Dirt is one of the 5 best albums ever made.

Also you have a disturbing way of spelling favorite.
