    Been a lurker for quite sometime, but now I am finally saying "hello!"

    Decided to go all-in on TacomaWorld, once and for all, for the sake of the classifieds. Currently changing up my 2001 Marty McFly setup into an overland type deal.

    Lookin' for a 1st gen offroad bumper of some sort. I'd really prefer not to fab my own and put that time into other crucial areas, but we will see.

    Unfortunately, you guys will hang on to all of your damn Tacomas until the end of time, so I anticipate used take-off parts to be few and far between! :rofl:

    But damn - this truck looks sweet the way she sits!

    I considered doing just that, Black Dog. I ended up finding a used cap that was color matched to my truck and specifically made for a gen 1 Tacoma (nothing short of a miracle!) I couldn't say no, and my wife was a large influence on that vote. I'm not a cap guy, but it does look sweet.

    With a $400 used cap and materials to build my own roof rack, I should come in around $500-$700 under the cost of the roof tent itself. I've allocated the imaginary savings into an OME 2-2.5" lift kit which is already here and sitting in the garage. We will save the RTT for her Jeep! LOL

    Since I am at the very beginning of this project, should I do a build thread?

    I'm torn because I get too focused on the project and forget to post.
