The rounds that you reference (if they are the same ones I use) have a small tab on the side of the barrel. I trim that off and then drill 7/8" dia. The switch will fit much easier and will indeed stay in place. All of that said with the caveat that the same round switches either go in a blank insert for fit or a stand alone surface.

With your choice of kits, make sure the kit provides four pads (two seats).

Here is the last set I used this past summer.

I installed the watercarbon kit as well but mine came with a different switch. It automatically turns off after car is shut off to avoid my kids leaving them on.

I think you’d need a high current connection in the clock spring which might require a different one for that option but sometimes those abilities are there but not utilized. Good luck with it.

I don't remember exactly, but it couldn't have been more than 100 I'd think for both the front seats. Probably less because I had a ton left over.

Here you go. Even comes studded with some “bling,” per the manufacturer.

Zone Tech Car Steering Wheel Bling 12V Heated Cover - Classic Black and White Diamonds Rhinestone Premium Quality Ultra Comfortable Leather Universal Fit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0891PK5NM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_05o7FbMHPWNQQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

In all seriousness, I’d love a heated steering wheel, but the only midsize truck that offered one was the Ridgeline.

Yeah, that will have to be a pass for me on this option :D

I considered the Colorado ZR2 which does have heated steering wheel but like the Tacoma reliability and resale much more than a warm wheel. Ridgeline is too much a Pilot with a bed for my taste but does have some nice creature comforts. Will see if an aftermarket solution comes available. I wondered if the T4R wheel would swap over?

Appreciate all the feedback! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set of seat heaters on Amazon. Will update the thread when I get them installed.

I had a 2016 Colorado before my Tacoma, and I didn’t really care for it. Had more pep than my Toyota, but it just didn’t feel well built and at that time, they weren’t very proven. I like my Tacoma a lot more, even if some of its features are a little more Spartan and antiquated for the price.

I seriously considered the Ridgeline before buying my Tacoma, and may have purchased one if they had their new front ends a year or so ago. I primarily use my truck in and around the city, and it’s a well-functioning city truck. But I hated the way it looked, I’ve always wanted a Tacoma, and I plan to get a little camping trailer this year and wanted the extra towing capacity that the Toyota offers. However, I would love to have the captains’ chairs with armrests and the heated steering wheel that the Ridgeline offers.

I completely agree. I’d pay to get it installed if there was a good option. None out there I can find. Not willing to give up my airbags to go completely aftermarket. Did that in my younger days with my Integra.

What alternator do these trucks have? Can it handle say 4 heated seats and accessories running? I'd figure heated seats pull a lot of amps.

Well I pulled the trigger and ordered a seat kit from Amazon. I was able to get it installed this week. I’m happy with how it turned out. Now I’ve got option for 4 toasted buns!
    1FE085FB-9DEC-4988-A1B3-EF2AC4B29D08.jpg

Applied some 3M spray adhesive to help hold them in place.
    69D638BE-DA54-4CD0-BF60-4B2493AA0FA8.jpg

Routed the wires under the carpet, into the underside of the storage tray and then along the transmission tunnel under the carpet up to the center console.
    E7F6B675-10F0-4BC8-91BD-4A3C43D05E14.jpg

Drilled out holes in the back of the center console and installed the heater controls. I was able to affix the relay and control board in the space under the rear cup holders as well out of sight.
    E40F176F-A6BD-420B-9066-9B20AF04889E.jpg

Tapped into the 12V for the center console for power.

After testing and cleaning up all the wiring with shrink tubing and 3/8” wire conduit I got the cab put back together.

You tapped into the accessory plug in the arm rest to power them? That circuit have a enough headroom to power two heaters?

Correct, the accessory in the center console. It powered them up fine on test. Voltmeter shows 12V to that line and the heaters call for 3.5A per seat.

I'm far from the eletrical expert but I'd be nervous using that for power but hope it works out for you. When I added mine I pulled in power from the trailer brake controller circuit since I dont have a use for it. Added a quick fuse box and was good to go.
