CBI T3 bumper with Smittybuilt XRC 9500 (gen 3)

Hi guys, I just wanted to share my experience installing the newer Smittybuilt winch on my CBI bumper. I have had the aluminum T3 on my pickup since 2017 and I finally got around to putting a winch on it. I did not have to remove the bumper to install the winch. I just removed the grill and a steel cross bracket that holds the remainder of the front facia. I was able to drop the winch down and mount her up. I did have to do a little fabrication to the bracket to get the control module to fit under the steel cross bracket I removed. You will not be able to mount the control module in the center over the winch line as the hood latch bracket is in the way.

 

be careful when wiring the winch, if you don't set the wires safely they can either rub your AC compressor or get caught on the winchline when expanding or reeling

 

Copy that, I used electric tape to tape the wires out of the way. My + and - cables are both in sleeves and I zip tied them out of the way. No doubt that winch is a tight fit in that bumper. A Warn M8000 would have had more room.
