What he said. I had a few canopies with similar sleep setups and for simplicity and function it’s hard to beat.

Haha!!! I'll be ready soon. If these sliders ever show up. I don't wanna take as many risks without sliders as I did with the last truck. My luck might run out... although, the last three of the VIN on this new truck is 777.

So a bit off topic; but felt it was worth posting. Went to the snow Saturday on Mt. Hood. About 1 mile off of 26 came across a group of built 4runners one of which had just rolled. He went up the side of the road and over a stump which tipped him. They had no straps on them. Fortunately I had mine with me.
Secondly, I was with a 4Runner who I personally purchased a strap for a few years ago-he had forgotten to bring his. After the dude’s got the 4Runner upright and back on the road, my brother in law(the other 4Runner) and I continued on. We ended up getting stuck numerous times and needed both recovery boards and the strap to get moving again. At one point we dropped the tires pressure down another 10PSI which made a huge difference, honestly probably would have got stuck half as many times if we had done it sooner.

Moral of this story. Don’t buy a 4Runner.

on a more serious note. Be prepared, have the right gear, air down bring a shovel and never go alone.

Unfortunately no. Had to take the kids pee while they got it flipped over. Which they were quick and the kids were not so much. Lol

Westcott Designs. Contrary to what their website says, they were not "in stock" and they were not "ready to ship."

EDIT: Jessica emailed me today and apologized for the delay. Sliders are waiting at the powder coating shop. Paint shop took off Christmas thru New Year, didn't tell Wescott they planned to take so many days off, and this is causing delays.

My other frustration with Westcott was their emails are not working correctly. Sales@wescottdesigns.net and info@westcottdesigns.net returned my emails as undeliverable.

Their shop phone number goes straight to Jeff's cell, and I just don't want to keep bothering him with calls to be honest. He forgot to return my call last time.
He's been super friendly and appreciative, I just didn't want to continue calling his cell. I know it must never stop ringing.

Last night I contacted them via the "contact us" form on their website. Jessica responded first thing this morning and now I have a good email address for her. She's also been very friendly and explained what's going on.

Their goal was to get everything to the customers within 2 weeks of order, but that didn't happen. They received many more orders than expected on Black Friday, then the holiday break at the paint shop foiled their 2 week plan for sure. I can understand, so in the meantime I'll try to remain patient.

I will second you on Vancouver Toyota. I have now purchased three Toyota trucks from them in the past 28 years.

They don't feel as slimy as most other dealers locally.

No grind from me regarding you switching from MT to AT. Different strokes for different folks. You do you and that's all that matters.

+2 for props on the auto. Until I put together a dual case, I'll always wish for a little more throttle control even with the 4.88s. And maybe I found a top-shift gear-driven transfer case at work last week...

Heading down to the Crooked River Backcountry Byway tomorrow to spend a night out. Lauren's on call and knows I'm overdue for a solo, it's a new year, lessgo. I might pay the bills by wrenching, but I miss writing, and it's been far too long since I sat down and let er rip. Night away from town, somewhat out of the rain, and a campfire ought to do the trick. Frankly, for most of the past year, I didn't even know where to start. Lots and lots of fodder no matter how you slice it.

So, if you know of anything worth checking out in that chunk of land surrounding Prineville and other points within reasonable proximity and appropriate for access at such a time of year as this, holler 'atcha boy.

Edited the post about my Westcott sliders. They contacted me today. I've been a little frustrated, but I want to give them some credit. Read my edit, post #1996
