Spent most of yesterday car shopping. There are some decent deals to be had out there. After awhile tho , it gets confusing , lol. Especially when its for her. Ever notice the look a young salesman gives ya when you tell them you don't need financing ?

We get on youtube and watch New Year's celebrations from around the world that happened already. Dubai was awesome this year, Sydney Australia too. South Korea had an incredible coordinated drone presentation. London used them too along with fireworks. You can still check them out I'm sure.

    Happy New Year!

Good New Year Morning porch folks. Dozed off while watching a movie and the missus woke me up to go to bed. I looked at the time and it was 12:01 AM. :yay:I was awake to welcome in the new year :woot:. Gave the missus a kiss, a big hug, wished her a Happy New Year and went to bed. Good evening of just relaxing and enjoying each others company (until I dozed of :)). Hope everyone had a good New Year and a safe one. With all my hopes and prayers, I wish everyone a great year ahead and most importantly, Be SAFE!

A little something every chance we get.
Happy New Year Porch People! Rained and was cold enough to keep the firework idiots MOSTLY inside, but not all. Poor Rex was shaking most of the night and not happy. Wife hadn't experienced it because she slept through 4th of July, so she got to stay up watching calming videos. I made it to the East coast midnight, but the CNN version of the ball drop was mostly KIA ad! Went to bed right after - old farts....

Anyway, Happy New Year 2021 to all, and may it be a safe adventure in happiness for everyone!

    Morning all:
Happy new year, looked at the clock last night when I went to bed and it was 11:45, thought heck to it it's bed time! The only thing that changed is that now we need to put 2021 on any correspondence, which reminds me that I need to send in est. taxes by the 15th. :(

    They actually don't like that!
I have a buddy who saved close to $1,000 by financing over paying cash, he financed the truck (a Ford F150) and took advantage of an extra $1000 off they were offering if he financed it, he then financed it, made 3-4 payments, and then paid the truck off, I don't think it was meant to work that way!
I never tried it, but they tell you to NEGOTIATE a price with financing FIRST, don't even give them a clue that you can pay for it without financing, then go to how much if I buy it outright, have read multiple times that they don't like that at all!! :notsure:
    I hate shopping for vehicles!!!!!:annoyed:

I agree get the HARD price first. Toyota of Kirkland had all these scraps of paper with prices............all levels of BS were going on. I walked. Same thing with my wife's 2017 CRV. I eventually just said. HERE is my price (and it was a price they still make some $) and I left. I think Toyota was a couple days, but Honda went a couple weeks and called us, accepted the price. Period.

And we paid cash, no financing deals.

I have no idea the percent but most (70-80%??) of new car buyers dicker with monthly payment amount. YIKES.

..just wanted to burn that sight into your retinas for 2021!! Pork and sauerkraut on New Year's day is a German tradition. We add in mashed potatoes. A great start to beginning the inevitable "I'm going to lose a few pounds in the New Year."

Actually that sounds good. The kraut and pork, that is. What pork cut do you use?

Here's a pictorial representation of what my wife prepares:

WOW! Looks awesome. Definitely Japanese and I love Japanese food and sushi. I’m only about 800 miles south of the middle of Washington. I could probably be there by late dinner time. :)

Good morning and Happy New Year to all my fellow 60+'s. :hattip:

Had an ice storm overnight and the lights flickered several times but the power stayed on. It changed over to snow about dawn and now it's a winter wonderland outside.

It's a great excuse to stay inside, sit by the fire, read a good book and maybe take a long nap. Or two.

Pork and sauerkraut is acceptable Mark, just remember not to eat anything with wings on New Years day or your luck will fly away! o_O

All they see is money out of their pocket. I negotiate without mentioning I’m paying cash. Dealers make money when they finance so tend to bend a bit more.

When I sat down with whatever they call the paperwork work (you know the guy at the end that wants to up sell you) he already had loan docs ready to sign.

Completely burst his bubble when I didn’t want any of “fantastic” deals he offered. No is such a simple word yet folks have such a hard time saying it.

Then when I pulled out my checkbook and ask how they wanted the check made out, you’d have thought I stole his puppy.

Salesmen have no problem lying to make a sale but can’t stand it when a customer runs the game on them

Once told a salesman I was paying cash after negotiation. He said they wouldn’t accept cash. Not accept cash??
Wrote a check. Walked out saving $3000.00.
