if my pain threshold was a bit higher I might agree with you. It’s not the wait. Anyone can wait, if you know the whys and what fors, provided it’s fair. Hey, we waited a whole year with no complaint, proving it can be done. No, it’s not the additional couple of weeks, It’s the jumbled, disjointed communication about what is happening (and, maybe the FBN method of shipping) that is the problem.

For a crystal clear understanding of the situation, check out this parable by @whatstcp , Pg 94, post #1876. :)

If you got the wrong clip nut with your order like I did, you can pick up a box of 6 from O’rileys for under $5.00. The part number is 961-320D. They are the self centering type.

My 93 pickup had 2 of these. I used to enjoy grabbing both of them while driving and yelling "Oh Jesus!" Mostly for the benefit of my gf.

Just my $.02, and I have no skin in this game. But looking at it from a similar “vendor” prospective, I have been in this situation. Errors happen, but it’s how you address it that matters even more. In my case, if it’s a specialty part that I have no control over... then yes unfortunately there’s no other option then to wait for your factory to deliver the correct item. However, in this case it seems like a simple M6 fairing clip would solve the issue which is readily available- no need to wait for “Toyota of China”. I’d suck up the extra costs, buy them here in the US and make everyone whole. Hash out the replacements with your vendor later. Because once CNY hits all bets are off for a ~month. But that’s just me..

These look alot better quality then the ones she provided. I picked mine up from Fastenal before I received the handle in anticipation it would have the wrong one included but it was correct. I still ised the Fastenal one since it was similar to the one at O’Reillys.

This is ridiculous. Send it with the wrong nut and a $1 stripper bill and “sorry” written on a post-it note. We will be fine. We can figure it out. Everyone can figure it out. And we can sniff the dollar. It’s FINE.

Yes I read your post about Fastenal option and was headed there but needed washer fluid so I stopped in at the parts store and came across their’s. The one I received was too large and flimsy as previous described. My second handle order was complete however I will be using the self centering one on the second installation.

Similar to my classmate from HS, he went to HPU, met his GF there, and they now live in Las Vegas.

    Personally, I love cold winters.
Here, nothing changes. Like a seasonal standstill.
Being so close to the equator, it is 365 days of tropical. It never drops, and never goes higher. Even the sunrises and sunsets only deviate by an hour or so throughout the year.

Before COVID, i used to fly to all of Asia, since everything is only about a 3 hour flight away. Was great flying to Japan for the weekends then coming back on Monday for work.

I’m the opposite on cold winters and loved the yr round summer temps with a few months of the rainy season as winter. It’s more humid where I’m at now than I ever remember HI, summers are brutal now. Missing extra daylight now you bring that up- getting dark at 4:45 blows, can’t get anything done.

damn weekend trips to Japan sounds amazing! That’s pretty sweet being able to do that, hopefully you’ll get back to that. Do you do the whole tourist thing or

Yeah, back here for work. Sadly it is as a Japanese Wedding Coordinator, and with the whole restrictions on travel, won't be seeing work anytime soon...

Used to live in Japan, my Ex(s) are all there too, so visited very often. Nowadays, my work sends me there for meetings. It is pretty cheap with United miles too, only around 25000 miles round-trip to most of Asia.

Japan was like that, Extreme cold and super humid summers, especially in Kyoto. It being dark at 4pm in winter really threw me off.

Yes, they have a spring like part built in that holds it in the center.

You don't need tape if you bend the clip a little. Sorry but the video is a bit humorous to watch.

The nut referred to above from has a clip of sorts on the top side that drops into the hole so that it stays in position. Once slipped onto the bracket, you'd need a screwdriver or other tool to lift it out of the hole to remove. Any auto parts store sells them under the Dorman name. Probably at Lowes, Home Depot, or any fully stocked hardware store too. I just hope she doesn't hold shipping for a stupid $.50 nut.
