    Hi,

I was wondering if someone has a disassembled spindle laying around and could help a guy out with some dimensions.
I just need the tapered dimensions for the TRE hole. Just the diameter of the top and bottom hole and the thickness.

If you're curious why, I have an aftermarket spindle that doesn't have a taper and it's causing premature wear on my TREs. I have to make a tapered insert that creates the same oem taper. But I want to make sure I get the oem dimensions right.
I bought the truck with the aftermarket spindle and just found this issue after doing the first tre replacement.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Just pull the tie rod out of the knuckle and measure it top and bottom.

    Thickness is about .721
Bottom larger end of taper is about .666
Upper smaller end of the taper is about .594.

my best guess is it’s a 17mm to 15mm taper and 18 mm thick.

Also if there’s no taper in your spindle, they were probably designed for heim steering.
