Go back to 1970. Imagine how little, those that won’t read the manual, would have to ask questions about.

These are all great ideas! Imagine the prices Toyota would charge for the trucks though

I’d love some portal axles and plug in hybrid as options. Also add me to the desire for a diesel. And if the body panels were made of plastic they could get the weight way down. (Think Saturn - but better)

    40mpg please

Wow! I had no idea lol. I figured after their initial release they'd been discontinued after the poor performance.

Shit I might be getting old.

I'd bring back the single cab 4WD with the following features

    Six speaker audio system
    V6 engine
    Bucket seats
    Rear locker
    Disc brakes in the rear
I'd angle the grill back and make smaller like a 2nd gen facelift
Design the front end so that ARB can make a bumper that doesn't look like shit and require cutting of old bumper
Beef the ever living shit out of the front frame rails, core support and inner fenders. The front end on these trucks is a wet noddle
Higher quality carpet, the 3rd gen carpet is just trash for a truck in this price point
Shit can the 2.7 engine sorry bitches you're all getting the 3.5

Here's the kicker i'd cancel the manual transmission across all trim levels just so we don't have to hear about it anymore

Pound for pound the taco puts out as a real truck. At work the guys in the HD trucks admire that I daily drive a taco. If you don’t need to tow a trailer it is a decent workhouse.

There was an era in this country where the majority of people that bought 3/4 and 1 ton trucks used them for what they were designed for. There was so few of them on the road, now they can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond with a five foot four Carol hopping out

I don’t recall what the underlying reason was that I picked a Toyota truck as my first new vehicle in my mid twenties. It was likely that I needed a truck for my motorcycle and other stuff, and didn’t yet need a full size truck.

That logic is still valid now that I’m an old man.

I was pretty poor fresh out of college. I definitely would not have been able to afford a loaded Tacoma 4x4 Offroad.
