Bilstein 5100’s on stock coil springs.

What results have you guys gotten with using bilstein 5100’s with stock coil springs?

 

I did 5100's with stock coils set on the 2.5 setting and they rode very harsh. Once I upgraded my UCA's it's back to riding nice and smooth again so you might think about doing the same.

 

UCA has nothing to do with how hard the ride is. That is from coil, shock and tire. UCA only gets you a better alignment.

 

Maybe my stock UCA'S were just that worn out, but it rides nice now.

 

1.75 with sr5 stock springs.......rides just fine.

 

Your going to get many different answers .
A lot of this depends on how many miles were on the factory springs and how the truck was used before the 5100 upgrade .
At 100k , i installed 5100,s on all 4 corners . Fronts were set at the factory setting and zero issues . Very happy with the upgrade .

 

It was pretty stiff.

 

at 2.5 setting with trd springs the 05 AC was considerably harsher ride offroad than the RC is with sr5 springs at 1.75

I too want to upgrade my front suspension with the Bilstein 5100's and the stock springs.
I already installed 5100's in the rear.
So how do you know what setting on the front shock equates to XX lift in ride height ?
I need like 1.5 to 2" in order to be equal with the back unladen.

The stock springs have 83K miles on them almost completely road miles.

 

1st slot = 0, 2nd slot = .85", 3rd slot = 1.75", 4th slot = 2.5"

 

Thanks would 3rd slot be pretty stiff compared to slot 2 ?

 

I'm rollin on oem coils at 3rd slot or 1.75" and it is fine. 2.5 or 4th slot on trd coils on my 05 was harsh.
