I never take the BP out I just don’t enjoy shooting it just not my thing. But it does give me great appreciation how the settlers and pioneers lived and died with that technology.

 

Here’s the .22. Model 7 i believe. Redid the stock and blued the barrel. It’s my boys now to pass along. I shoot a 50 rounds or so through it every year.

 

Nice I’ve got a marlin 60 I just got back the other day from the gunsmith had a cracked ejector claw and he polished the bolt.

 

Yours is advanced with that cap ignition. Mine is a flintlock. Not of any age, but it was my dads.

Keep them wiped down with a microfiber cloth and a lite coat of oil. I also recommend a silicone sock for protection. If you polish them it will reduce the value a lot. Just my.02

The silicone sock will also keep your other weapons from bumping into them where you store them.

They’re always cased in a canvas case and a sock on the powder gun and thanks.
