Today it got very cold this afternoon. I drove into town with the taco for an errand. On the way in it began to squeak lightly, but on the way back it became annoying. When i got home i tried pushing down on the front suspension....sounds like a mattress thats gone south squeaking like hell. Just curious what could be causing it. Otherwise nothing seems outta place.

I have an intermittent squeak as well. I have heard that it could be caused by the front body/radiator mounts. On mine if I get under the truck and spray everything that moves with silicon spray it goes away for a while. I have yet to figure out what it is.

sometimes in the extreme cold squeaks, creaks and funny noises are the nature of the beast.

Sounds like a good way to get a bunch of cap stuck in your leafs making them squeak

It's probably the rubber bushings on the control arms or possibly the body mounts. You can try pressure wash them, use a lube or whatever but it will likely come back in time.

As far as WD-40, I would honestly recommend something else. If you want to use a lubricant like that you may want to consider a dry silicone lube or something.

However I recommend considering a light application of NGLI#2 in those areas if you can get to them.

I've got a spray can of heavy duty silicon that i'll hit those areas with once it gets a bit warmer outside. I can hear every once in awhile something like there's an owl in the front end hooting once this cold snap hit. I will say they are strange sounds, my tundra never whimpered.

Just read another thread on this page with a video of the same squeak. Too bad its warm today, as the squeak has disappeared. I don't think its anything to worry about. Must be something to do with tight tolerances when cold on some of these suspension components that cycle under load.

Same thing happened to me the first year of having my truck. Only happened in the winter and drove me nuts. It ended up stopping and never had it happen again during the second winter.

I had a squeak that I swore was suspension related but ended up being the hood. Try unlatching the hood and see if it goes away.

I already tried that. Squeak goes away when temps are above freezing. If this wasn't so funny with the temps i wouldn't joke about it. Its an annoying little gremlin texas sent me to enjoy our winters.:boom:

I had an annoying squeak every time I hit a bump, aftermarket suspension all around. Ended up being the spare tire rubbing on the positioning arms that center the tire. Sprayed some Lucas red tacky grease on the spring while I had the spare down and re-installed, no issues anymore.
