So, as many of you (probably) know, I'm a slight Back to the Future nut. So here's a happy story for the weekend. For Christmas my Mom got me the Marty Hallmark Keepsake ornament. When I opened it, I noticed the logo was damaged (see below)
[IMG]Untitled by Mike M, on Flickr

I figured it wasn't a big deal, just exchange it on Amazon or wherever she got it. It turns out she got it from the Paper Store, which only takes returns / exchanges on the ornaments until 12/24, so I was SOL. I told my Mom it wasn't a huge deal, so don't worry about it, but my Mom, being my Mom bought another one and told me to just chuck the second one or something. So I got the new one today, no issues or anything. It's supposed to say quotes from the movie, so when I tried it out it didn't seem like it was the actual voice of Michael J. Fox, so I hoped on Amazon to read reviews and see if I was crazy (not that I cared). Someone mentioned that the figure was a perfect match for the 1/15 scale DeLorean. Seeing as I had the 1/15 DeLorean, out came the X-acto knife and Marty was soon liberated from his stand and I ended up with this.

I might be geeking out a bit too much over this, but I'm not going to complain.

EDIT: since it’s not clear I ended up with an ornament and an action figure.

That’s awesome. Did you happen to see the movie of them restoring the original DeLorean?

Absolutely. The dedication was impressive. I remember following some of the work on Facebook when they were trying to source the correct tires for the restoration.

Nice man! Glad you were able to make it work even better for you! I made my wife watch all 3 movies about 6 months ago because she never seen them. Yes and she was an 80s kid too! When she told me I literally said WTF???!!!

Both my kids saw it the night they came home from the hospital. Step 1 of indoctrination complete.

My fandom goes deeeep. I have photos from when I was 8-9 where my Dad test drove a DeLorean so I could check one out in person. It was amazing.

I gave strong consideration to buying one when I got my Vette. I knew it was a “don’t meet your idols” moment since by all accounts they’re horrid cars. They’re still my favorite car of all time, though.

When ever I see a Delorean I get a huge smile on my face. I saw one in someone's driveway in the town I grew up in about 15 years ago and I had to do a double take! Even if they suck as a vehicle I would LOVE to own one.
