Return it and get a stock Tacoma that you can modify one piece at a time so if you run into issues you have a better idea of what's causing it.

Go back to the dealer and ask to go for a test drive in an off-the-lot truck. If it does the same thing (It won't), okay, normal. If doesn't... a'splain me this, Lucy!

That is definitely not right. There are many trucks with that tire size and lift with no trans issues. I just did a 3400 mile trip loaded way down and it had no issues like that even driving into the wind at 80. Good news is you documented the visit early in case this goes to an arbitrator. Hope they get this figured out. Sucks to have a new truck and stuff wrong with it.

I’m not sure I would imagine stock, they didn’t tell me anything about re-gearing truck but they told me about everything they put on

It would be worth figuring out. I suspect with all the extra stuff and the taller tires, a ratio thats too tall would keep it from being any good in overdrive, so the computer keeps kicking it back to 4th.

Either way, it sounds like the dealer screwed this up.

What ECU id do you have? B0 or B1? B1 should help a ton, there’s a tsb for it.

Is this with cruse control engaged? Cruse control with lifted Tacomas (or stock ones even) is kinda whack like this. If so, does it also exhibit similar behavior driving normally?

Do you use the “connect app”? From that app I went to the service history and found the dealer work order where they installed the 3” lift etc... They did not tell me everything they did under the “spec 1” package. It was only seeing this work order that I knew they removed the needle bearings and put in bushings, LED bulbs (hadn’t even looked at that) and some other things. Maybe they listed out all the things they did on yours?

For that matter, if you use cruise control at 80 MPH and lifted with extra shit on your truck, don’t be surprised you get 11 MPG.

Do you realize with your 34” tires that 80 on the speedometer is probably 86 mph?
I’m not surprised it won’t hold your overdrive gears at that speed.

Based on my stock 2018s performance on toyotas ecu programming, I am also not surprised your truck doesn’t want to shift out of 4th with that amount of weight at that speed. I recommend you look at shedding weight or re gearing and re tuning.

My cousin bought a brand new truck that was having constant issues and the dealer wouldn't help... until he made a 4’x8’ sandwich board sign and put it in the bed saying the (name of the dealership) sells lemons. Took about a week before it was fixed free of charge. During his spare time he would park across the street from them. So that’s an option.

Just looked it shows they installed accessories, but they didn’t detail it, all they put was “install Toyota accessories”
