Odd sound on 3rd gen

i have a 2016 trd sport with about 97k miles on it and it has run like a dream for the entirety of it. recently when crusing at low speed (10-20mph) i noticed an odd sound coming from the rear near the back wheels although i couldnt tell exactly where. It was almost a creaking or rumbling not sure but as i sped up the sound seems to go away and it dosnt do it all the time. is this anything to worry about or just common wear and tear?

Loose nuts. A regular customer came to my work saying only his front left tire makes noise at low speed only. Lifted it up and checked suspension and no problem. Checked the nuts and they were hand tight. Torqued down and told him to pick up no charge.

 

where would these be located?

 

Since it’s your back tires, park on a level surface. Put bricks or anything to stop your front wheels from moving. Put the truck in neutral and parking brake off. Lift up on the rear diff so both rear tires are off the ground. Spin each tire and check for any noise or anything loose. Check to make sure the lug nuts are tight. Could be bad drum brake hardware or shoes/drum.

 

My leaf springs squeak/creak like crazy, only when not raining. Its the worst in the summer.

Does that sound familiar at all?

 

This only happens over the age of 60 im told.

 

i was gonna say, at almost 40 I am suffering from loose nuts
