Unfortunately Arizona doesn’t have a cooling off period that would allow you to unwind the sale. You are at the mercy of the dealership to help you out. https://www.azag.gov/consumer/auto

Your likely issue is a combo of the gearing of the truck and the size of the tires. You are probably right at the point where the combo doesn’t like to play together in the manner you want to drive it. The dealer probably isn’t wrong when they say your truck is operating normally. If you drove slower, your truck operates as designed. Remember this is a V6, not a V8. Your tires are 3” taller than stock and about 20lbs heavier, it’s getting a workout and apparently 83mph is at the edge of the limits.

The cheapest option will likely be to get the dealer to downsize the tires to 285/70R17, the 1.12” difference may be enough to get you back to a more comfortable cruising RPM.

The other options are regearing, which isn’t great since you want to cruise fast, not speed away from stop signs, or a new tune on the ECU from OVTune. Neither of these are likely to get any traction from the dealer so you’d be on your own.

A regear will just bring it back to stock ratios as long as he keeps the same tires. Regearing would fix all his issues as the truck will actually be able to use the overdrive gears as intended. And also OP if it says your doing 80 you are probably going like 85+

Per my gps speedometer it says I’m doing 83mph at that speed which is perfect given what my posted highway speed limit is here. I agree it should be re geared, now just to try and get dealership to make it right given I can’t operate my vehicle at posted speeds by what they have done to this truck

Just as an FYI the drivability of my truck was made a lot better with the regear than with my supercharger
Even if they don’t wanna pay it if you wanna keep it as is I would definitely look into regearing it on your own

Higher gear ratio means lower possible top speed. Also 3rd gens top speed is computer controlled based off a sensor needs an ecu tune to allow a normal top speed.

2nd gens and 3rd gens are different animals. What works for us won’t necessarily work for you.

Mines superchargered on a smaller pulley, fuel pump, full exhaust, intake and HPtuned. All those were done before I regeared and honestly with my 315/75r16 tires i was disappointed in how it drove then I regeared to 4.56 and I absolutely love it now. Feels soo much more powerful and usable

Higher gear ratio just compensated for the bigger tires. Keep in mind top speed on these trucks is still gonna be 112 no matter what so it won’t matter. If you kept the stock tires and went higher gear ratio than you would be right but not with bigger tires

Same concept, different applications. What works for a 4.0L doesn’t provide the same results with a 3.5L.

Can we talk torque here? There is none in this engine, and this proves it absolutely. The low torque output is unable to hold the truck at the desired speed, so to shifts to peak horsepower RPM's because there's not sufficient power, i.e. torque.

Okay so I have read a bunch of the post but no one has asked the OP about what warranty he agreed upon during the signing. Why don't you find your sales contract you signed and check the warranty or did you just tell them you didn't care the truck is "cool" and it's a 2020 I shouldn't have an issue and said I don't need a warranty?

That’s 3rd gear not 4th. At the end of your video it finally up shifts to 4th.

I would try lighter wheels and tires as a test to see if it will cruise in 6th gear and then decide what to do . The dealer might be right and there is nothing wrong with the truck the way it is set up and make sure the transmission is full too .
