12-27-2020:

Received my ARB E-Z Deflator and

$91 Viair 88P Portable Compressor Kit (12V, 120 Psi, Forup to 33" Tires)

Viair 88P compressor from Amazon. Now airing down and back up will be a breeze on the trails!

 

12-31-2020:

The wife and I ended the year taking the truck to the trails for the first time. Made a stop by Zion market for lunch, then off we went to Otay Mountain Truck Trail. The truck handled it no problem, even the offshoot to the peak. We sat on the tailgate at the peak and had lunch overlooking San Diego. It was a fun, beautiful time and we can’t wait to get out there again!



We also hit 1k miles on the way home! Purchased 10-16-20, 1,000 miles on 12-31-2020.

 

Looks good man. Love the roof top setup. Prinsu racks are so expensive in Canada.

I want one though and will keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks man I appreciate you taking the time to look and say that. Yea it’s been an awesome rack so far and I can’t believe how quite it is compared to other rack systems I’ve had in the past. If you find one, you won’t be disappointed.

 

1-1-2021:

After trailing the day before, started the new year off right with a wash and a ceramic coating. That stuff is amazing.

 

1-2-2021:

So taking my Prius in for the 30K was a little more expensive today than I anticipated. Paid the $399 to extend the Toyota Care to 45k, which I was planning on. But then I decided to go look at the trd skid plates in person and see what the dealership price was since I’ve been eyeing them and that was on the list of things I need to get next, but not right now. But then they got me with the, “ we have one left so I’ll give it to you for $385 instead of $417.” Today was too expensive and the wife isn’t gonna be too thrilled. I really need to be done for a while now!




I also had time to do the TVD Vinyl Decals chrome delete.

 

1-3-2021:

I didn’t like the TRD red with the black truck. Nothing a little plasti dip couldn’t fix.

 

12-6-2021:

Got my Hondo Garage mounts in today. Got my phone ram mount up and just gotta order my iPad mount pieces now.

Just stumbled on your thread. Nice truck!

You might want to skip self car wash in the photo. Just wash at home with the two bucket method. If in a hurry you can do the Mobil Gas station car wash for a quick contactless wash. Won't be good but better than the swirl machines.

Thanks! Yea I don’t ever go there. I think that was the first time ever. I only wash at home. I went to the drive thru only to leave the dirt mess there and not in my alley. I only washed it off and didn’t touch their equipment on my truck.

12-10-2021:

So I called RCI to get an update on my bed rack that I had just ordered on November 17. Wait said 6 to 8 weeks which put me at right about now. I called just to get an ETA since I had a trip to Joshua tree coming up next week. They said they were having some issues with the programming to fabricate these bed racks so they were a little farther behind than normal. I was put on a brief hold and then they told me they had one of the more expensive adjustable bed racks that they would ship out to me at no additional cost. The first box came in 2 days and the next box 2 days after that. The fact that RCI went above and beyond when they didn’t need to was amazing. I will forever have nothing but nice things to say about them.



So the install of the rack took a couple hours just taking my time making sure all the hardware was snug and done properly.



I was also able to mount my RotoPax Lox Mounts with the RotoPax on the drivers side.




With the Yakima Skyrise tent, I had to take the clamps off that are used for traditional roof racks and measure and drill holes in the bottom of the tent. I then used 3/8” x 1.5” carriage bolts to secure the tent to the bed rack. Now I just need to add recovery boards and Waterport shower to the passenger side of the rack, as well as quick mounts on the inside of the drivers side for a shovel and axe.

 

Awesome truck man! I have 5100s but yet to install them. How does your truck ride on the top 5th notch? I have dcsb 4x4.

 

Thanks man! It rides just fine. I had the same setup on my 2015 for 3 1/2 years and it was fine. Never felt like I needed UCAs or anything.

 

How’s the ride quality? Because I hear people saying it rides bad on the highest notch. I’m ready to put my 5100s on in about a week. I’m stuck between 4th and 5th notch

 

I don’t notice anything bad. It’s a truck that already has big at tires so it’s not made to be the smoothest on the road.
