Me and my son were sitting in Arby's drive thru and an 82 year old man rear ended us and ran through the fence

Wow, at least the damage seems to be mostly superficial. That hurts to see.

Man, that looks like a “1/2 inch to the right and it would have all been different” kinda thing. You look to have lucked out and not clipped the tailgate or rear fender.

I saw two wrecked Tacomas last night in two different wrecks. 21 hasn't been kind to the taco thus far.

I’m more impressed that the taillight assembly stayed in place

If that's the worst that happens to you this year, it's gonna be great! That's a pretty easy fix. Hopefully the offender has insurance and you have no hassle with them.

For long term effects I'd be more worried about eating the Arby's. :D

New plate steel rear bumper and $100 taillight and you're good to go.

Oh no they broke the Chinese build quality plastic bumper ! Pishhh. This is a blessing. Same thing happened to me and within a week a CBI high clear bumper was on its way.

just wait till the front bumper (made of the exact same material as them rubber made yard waste 55gal trash cans) folds like a cheap suit. Actually scratch that , the trash can is probably harder to cut through...

Looks like a normal day in Moab for me! I could have sold you my BSM modules if you had it.

FWIW I just wrecked a taillight while wheeling, picked one up at a junkyard for under $100, can probably find some cheap bumper caps as well.

Start of the new year with led taillights and CBI bumpers for what it would cost to replace with one Toyota parts:oldglory:
