Wish Toyota would have stepped up and improved paint to protect more.

After the first go around with frames you'd think spending a little more on paint would make sense.

But I guess they like replacing frames costing them millions.

    It's only money!

So should I expect issues with my 2020? I thought all the premature frame rust would be a thing of the past. I know metal rust given enough time and conditions but if there is something I need

No. They would be cleaned, descaled, dried and coated - in place.

I live in Ut as well. I have an 09 180K, been in state all it’s life. Took it into Mark Miller a couple weeks back for a transmission flush and got a call that they’d replace the frame. It’s worth looking into.

I didn’t think so. There’s as much surface rust as you’d expect for the year and mileage but I’ve seen much much worse that passed the test. Like I said it’s definitely worth taking it in for. You’ve still got some time, my 12 year warranty was coming to a close.

11-15 is rare, 05-09 was far more common. There was a recall with a moisture inhibitor that was applied to 15's so its likely ok for a long time.

How on earth did he pull that off 5+ years past the "12 year from first use requirement?"

Any chance you meant a '13 Tundra?

Nope it is an ‘03 tundra. I was shocked that they stood behind it. It is the small tundra with the small v8. He called our local dealer and they asked if it had been under coated and if it had a crossmember replaced or any work done to the frame and the answer was no. He said you all have done major services and I have done the minor ones. They said bring it in and we will inspect and let you know. He said the rollback is on its way. Three months and a rental car later it’s back on the road. I would have bet he had 0.0% chance. So last month when buying a new car for my wife I bought 2. My truck and her Camry. GM could care less about it’s customers so I left them. But that’s another story or should I say nightmare.
