geez, had to do the math here, mine was 44yrs ago.open sight 30-30. about 40 yds.1st shot was money but i emptyed the gun as he ran. two behind the shoulder, one in the front leg and one in the ham.dad put the horns on a plack with brass plate engraved with gun, date, and 1st buck.awful proud memories there. it was a fork horn with one eye guard.

Lets see.......63-16=47 years ago!!!! My friend and his dad hunted with me, my brother and our dad at our camp in Pa. Glenn came to my spot to eat lunch together on opening day, I saw a deer walking uphill about 40 yards away - told Glenn, he offered his binocs, I said no it was a buck. Shot him and I swear he did a summersault!! He was still kicking as Glenn and I walked over so I kept shooting "Rifleman" style - from the hip with my model 99 Savage!!! Not sure if I even hit him again, but we started hootin' and hollerin' with excitement. My dad hurried down cause he thought someone got shot due to the commotion. A mountain 6 point. Hunted that spot for a good many years and still hunted within 75 yards of it till this year when I didn't go to Pa. at all.

I don't know if any of you would know what part of the deer this came from if it came plated in front of you.
24 hour sous vide... Those are whole muscles cut from a button head's hind quarter after I sliced it I could cut the slices with a spoon. I am a huge sous vide believer now. I also sear one of them off in mayo and am a huge believer in that too lol

This is good advice. My boy is hooked on the electronics. He still hunts with me though.
