I saw some deep muddy water yesterday but not for long. The engine bay was dirty...and still is. I figured this would go away after some drying and road time, but it has not. I have to say I am a bit disappointed. My 2nd Gen never had this issue until over 100k and a good drenching off-road.

I assume I'll be able to get this covered under warranty as long as I can clean up some of the mud.
The noise seems to cycle with the engine RPMs, possibly the power steering pulley.
    What say you?

I gave it a light hose rinse today. I'll try a careful high-pressure wash with some engine cleaner tomorrow.

I use simple green meant for engine bays. Doesn't mess up any aluminum or rubber hoses. Agitate if needed and light rinse. Sometimes a heavy weekend or let it dry and it takes 2 times over to get it done.

    Great minds think alike!
I did the degrease today and the chirping is nearly gone.

This exact noise happened to me after a ride with lots of long creek crossings. I had the same noise and I noticed it when I was filling up on the way home. It was worse the next day after everything dried.

^ That was the solution. I washed the hell out of everything around the serp belt and squirted some spray lube into each pulley.

I still had a bit of a squeaky chirp that varied with RPM at idle for a while afterwards. The noise would always go away when I was driving - it only happened at idle.

The noise went away fully a few rides and washes later. Ironically, it was fully gone after another deep creek crossing - my guess was there was a chunk of something stuck somewhere that didn't fully dislodge until then.
