My 2020 Tacoma TRD Offroad doesn't have the "auto headlight on/off" option on the stalk, but it does have the "sensor" on the dashboard. I noticed it was just there and not plugged in, for obvious reasons, when I was swapping out my tweeters. However, I did notice the plug that goes to it. Has anyone else plugged this in? I did a few weeks ago in hopes that it would auto-dim my radio when my lights were on. But I noticed this afternoon that my DRL were not on, when the stalk was set to it, perhaps due to this plug?

Unplug it and verify it "returns" to what it did before.

Tried to unplug it but no luck. Only mod done to the truck is speaker replacements & N2 Remote Start. Checked the 10A fuse under the hood and it's good there as well, works when it's on the other settings but not when set on DRL for the stalk. Also checked the setting in the radio.

The info I've read states the sensor would work if you have the Auto Feature (system and stalk), maybe system didn't like the sensor giving an input without the complete system operative.

Well, spent a few hours searching for a blown fuse with no luck...it has me scratching my head since it was working fine after plugging the sensor in, and still works on other options of the stalk settings but not the DRL settings. After the speaker install, and remote start. I did attempt to tap into the brake lights for my truck cap lights by using taps, but decided against it since I didn't want to cut into the harness (the taps did not break into the harness, the tap was for a larger gauge wire). I've also tried unplugging the battery and returning the headunit to default. I've made an appointment with the dealership, but would like to try to solve it beforehand if at all possible since the only opening was 2 weeks out.

Also, if going to the dealership to figure this out, should I put the stock speakers in and remove the remote start? Not sure if they'll try to blame it on those parts, even though it seems unrelated.

Is it possible that the N2 Design remote start or the speaker install is altering it somehow? I noticed yesterday that the remote start (FOB and Smart Phone app) wasn't responding so I had to reprogram it.

Anything is possible but I can say this with certainty; I installed the N2 remote this past weekend. Same setup as yours (auto bright) and no issues from my machine after the install.
