What connection is this?

    Bought a used 2008 Tacoma Sport off a member and I’m installing a 12Volt Solutions remote start and I’ve come across this connection that is alone in the steering column wire loom. I’m trying to figure out what it goes to because since I’ve owned the truck it has never done the audible beep when I press the lock button twice. Wondering if this is the culprit but I have no open connections I can find. Anyone have any insight?

    Assembly line diagnostic link ? I think thats were you plug into your truck to scan for codes ( OBD2 )

    Looks a little different from a standard OBD II port. They normally have an "wedge" shape to them as seen in the photo below:

    You are right . Usually they are 16 pin

    Ok so until I get a scangauge there’s nothing I can plug that into correct? Cause I have the standard obd2 port down below

    That grey plug is not a diagnostics connection.

    I'm not sure what it is for, but the OBD2 Connection is this one:
