don’t the Predator steps bolt to the body and not the frame. I’m definitely no expert but it seems using them as a slider could cause some damage to your rockers

That I don't know. They wouldn't be meant as heavy duty sliders. More of sliders for appearance. Plus some of the stuff in Arizona is so rocky that the steps would cut down on clearance quite a bit.

Absolutely better without. Mine came off at the dealership on the first day and got a refund.

Over the weekend I knocked out a bunch of christmas gift mods I have been piling up. Got this front bug shield/armor from the wife and kids,
    [IMG]

then since I got lucky and scored some Meso Puddle lights, I planned to do a whole bunch of door stuff since I was going to be in there.

New Speakers and some sound deadening,
    [IMG]

    Accent lighting,
    [IMG]

and then once these were installed :

i realized I had to do this,
    [IMG]

and while waiting on the 3d printer to finish, i put this on that i made awhile back
    [IMG]

and since I had half the dash apart, I decided to installed the indash charger so I could make a nice clean setup with the wireless magnetic charger that Ive been meaning to do for months

and then I since I was like 8 hours into working on the Taco I decided to finally mount my radar detector mute button in the place ive been meaning to for years. Turned out super clean, no visible wires

all this while also detailing the truck and giving it some much needed cleaning

was a full day in the garage and I loved every minute of it.

Much better without. They’re just waiting to get caught on something. Same with mud flaps, first delete on my truck before taking it off road.

Yeah the predators do hang pretty low. My steps are pretty low profile but I definitely don’t have to worry about giant rocks in Florida anyway. We have our own obstacles here though. Meth head zombies that walk out in front of traffic while lighting a smoke, a culmination of older drivers from northern states that mindlessly drive their giant Lincoln town cars, and giant F series trucks with big blue hanging nuts that roll coal and create massive smoke clouds.

Which accent light is this? I got one and it's SUPER dim I'm rather disappointed and haven't heard from the vendor yet.

Right now it's on the passenger side of the center console. Used double sided gorilla tape. My plan is to find a better place under the dash later. As of now it's small enough that it does not get in the way of the wife sitting there. Next step is to hard wire it to the fuse box, but I'm not that good with wiring so I'm waiting on a buddy to stop by and give me a hand. I really hate using the connection it came with .

Easy call for me. On top of the excellent quality and aesthetics, they’re right down the road so I didn’t pay shipping. Not tough to install or prep/paint. You’ll dig it.

On the Escort DirectWire SmartCord mounting did you have to do any trimming of the plastics to hide the wires? I am planning a lot of the same mods, and like you, want to do all of them at the same time.

Thanks! Picked it up Dec 02. Got a super deal on my ‘17 at trade in. So far the transmission is better than on the ‘17 so I guess they worked out some of the bugs as rumored.

The dial on you center gauge cluster, if you turn it clockwise it will make the door bowl lights brighter

    oh...

    That's absolutely not what I want ‍♂️.

I guess that answers the question of why it's so dim though... I have red door bowls that won't kill night vision and cause a bunch of eye strain... I keep my dash dimmed to limit eye strain. Lame.

Same. Still have to solder the antenna connection but I’m hopeful we both dig our new systems.
