19’ Tacoma V6 Knocking Noise

    Hey everyone, so it’s my first truck. It’s a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport. So I hear a tick tick and knocking noise from the engine. However at low speeds and at about 25-30 mph a bit of a uphill i’ll hear a knocking from the engine as well from time to time if I tap on the gas.The truck has only 2200 miles on it. My cousin has a 2018 and he has the same issue apparently. Any suggestions or is this normal thing with this things.

    Sounds like the normal “Taco tick” from the engine. These trucks have very noisy lifters. It’s not anything wrong, just the way they sound.

    As for the knocking going uphill, try filling it up with premium and see if it goes away. If so, then it is pinging. Mine does it too, so I just run premium all the time.
