So, I’ve just recently replaced the heater core in my 2013 double cab. Everything went smooth other than 2 things. #1 my keyless entry doesn’t work, but the panic button works. #2 my steering wheel has a pop when I’m turning. (Steering wheel nuts and bolt are tight, triple checked) I just can’t understand why the doors will not unlock and lock if the panic button is working.. any suggestions?? Thanks In advance!

1: Do your door locks work from the doors?
2: Did you get the steering installed correctly where it was while not allowing the wheel to rotate with the shaft disconnected?

Are you sure that the doors are completely closed?
The wireless lock doesn’t work when a door is open.
Close the doors and then look on the dash for the open door light.

I've seen techs miss connectors on the back of the body control module on heater cores, they need to fix it.

I do recall when I was doing a dash removal on a Tundra several of the connectors down by the kick panels were the same (they could be plugged into the wrong one) I ended up marking them with a paint marker, not sure if Tacoma's are like this but even if it was a case of reversed connectors it would be odd for it to only affect the door locks:notsure:

Doors are 100% shut. And steering wheel was never taken completely out, only took off the 2 nuts and one bolt holding it up. Its just crazy to me that the panic button works, but the unlock and lock doesn’t. And yes, the unlock and lock works on the panel on the door

I also triple checked connectors at the kick panel all the wires on front and back of connectors match up.

Long shot but did you have the ignition key removed when you tried it, service manual says wireless lock/unlock will not function with key inserted.

No, the key was in my hand outside of the truck, noticed it wasn’t working when I was walking in the house after I was done and was trying to lock it

No "key in" beeper when the door is open with key removed, no door ajar light with all the doors closed, have you tried a different key fob? Also check the the Door Control Receiver is fully plugged in.

I haven’t tried my other key fob, the beeper is going off key in or out. The door control receiver is plugged in. I’m out of town for work at the moment. When I get back home I’m gonna run the through some stuff again..

I think that's your problem then, you need to check the unlock warning switch and related wiring.
