Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I don't understand why they are referring to them as weapons? I prefer firearm, or at least gun/pistol/rifle. I don't refer to mine as weapons, as they fortunately have only been a hobby. When used in the commission of crime, I fully understand, just not the general use of the term is all. That's like referring to my butcher block as containing weapons. Only if you break into my kitchen...

How much weight does that cat add to your gear?

I’m thinking a mouse trap or Decon would be a better option. :notsure:

Rifles here don’t need to go thru a FFL when sold private party. I always go to a shop and have them take it in as a trade then the individual I sell to buys it off the shop. A little bit of inconvenience for the buyer, but I have a legitimate paper trail saying that the firearm isn’t in my possession anymore. I don’t care how honest the buyer claims or seems to be. If it doesn’t go in my safe it doesn’t stay in my name.

In the rare event I sell a firearm I do the same. The only exception I make is for those with CHCL. In my state if you have one you don't have to do a background check even if buying through FFL.

Colorado has a statute specifically prohibiting the registration of firearms.
I didn't realize things were so bad in other states.
Not that I trust the government to actually follow their own laws....

The term "weapons" sounds more menacing, so the media can continue to push the fear to us unintelligent peasants.

I agree. Many items can be used as a weapon, and a firearm is only weapon when shooting at someone else.

This is just more disinformation, aiding to the dumbing down of America. :(

    just playing devils advocate here:
    https://www.britannica.com/technology/weapon
all firearms are weapons, not all weapons are firearms...
a hammer is a tool, can also be a weapon
a firearm is a weapon, can also be a tool
:duh::notsure: is a car only a car when you drive it?

you can use a firearm as a paper weight, but it was designed to be fired and not designed to be used as a paper weight...
a rock was designed to be a paper weight, you can also use it as a weapon...

lol :violent: maybe i am wrong, maybe the gun is the tool and the bullet/projectile is the weapon :drevil:

If I use a firearm for target shooting only, how is it a weapon?

    Just sayin'... :p

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
You are proving my point from what I'm reading. The Britannica definition "Weapon, an instrument used in combat for the purpose of killing, injuring, or defeating an enemy."

I do not choose to use my firearm as an instrument in combat, unless combat comes to me. I choose to use my firearm for hobby purposes for fun/sporting. If combat comes to me, I will choose to use my firearm as a weapon. That's my point. I do carry my firearm as a tool to prevent being a victim. I pray to the above that I will NEVER use it as a weapon, an instrument for the purpose of killing. Thus I don't really agree with the use of the word, unless used as such. I have carried a pocket knife for 30 years (even in HS/college, ahh the good days), and have never used it as a weapon. I will not hesitate to use it as one if the need ever arose though.

    meh, kinda but not really...
a weapon is a weapon regardless of what it is used for...
you say you dont carry a weapon, but you carry a firearm just in case you need to use it as a weapon... really?? come on man... its a weapon...
if I daily drive either a modded tacoma or a modded 911, some people call these choices race car and monster truck... but they are neither really, they just my daily drivers ya know, only because I dont use them for hot laps and crawling...
like is my 10/22 bench gun not allowed to be my varmint gun, only because its really only my bench rest target gun??

we dont get to pick and choose these things so agree or not its kinda a moot point, regardless of what we use something for it is what it is...
my dinner knife is not a weapon because i only cut my steak?? pretty sure its still weapon because I can kill a cow with it... pretense past tense that shit dont matter

anywho, did you read the entire article?? where only "firearms" stolen??
it was not just firearms, there was also ammo stollen so I would even reach and assume maybe a few other toys like knifes maybe may have been jacked by the perps at the same time...
so idk, maybe the word weapon isnt all that evil, if only not really worth getting oversensitive towards it

He's only 12 pounds and fits between my neck and pack. Perfectly centered!

We sorta did. My ammo turned out to have significant temp stability issues so we were doing mid stage calcs on a tablet with strelok.
