Took the Land Cruiser to an upholstery shop to get a quote on having my cracked driver seat leather reupholstered. About shit myself when she said $450 for a single seat bottom. this is one of those times where I think I could probably get this done better and cheaper if I lived in southern California

I did new leather seat covers, replacements, not just the cheapy condom style, from leatherseats.com for right at a grand for all the seats. It is a lot of work but really not that hard to do. One front seat can be done in a couple hours or so.

The leather has smoothed out since doing them and actually sitting in them along with cleaning and leather conditioner and summer heat.

Most of the guys that went to Moab saw them in person as well. Everyone seemed to like them.

OEM foam or is there some company that sells that too?

I don't mind hte seats in my taco, but I'm pretty sure the foam has seen better days.

Fit looks pretty close. They don't make seat bottoms for mine anymore. I'd just swap in the passenger side and the passenger can go fuck themselves. I'll ask them for some samples so I can match the color up real good. I just want it all the same color and I like the perforations in the center patch. Price seems worth it if I can find a good color match. Do they supply any tools for fitting them? Shame they will only sell with the third row too, that would save money if I could opt out. I've never used it and I don't even keep it in the back anymore.

OEM foam. Fortunately, Toyota still has it.

Wow learn something new every flipping day!

I've tried teaching myself the nuances of circuit board manufacturing (because I want to build my own) and how specific Hz ratings can so greatly effect the performance or output is something I still struggle to wrap my head around.

I know you're kinda into video games... do you know about the saga of Billy Mitchell? They were able to finally tell he cheated his records on donkey Kong from so long ago because when it's emulated through MAME it runs at 59hz(I think?) but the original boards output signal was at 60.6hz and that cause the girders to appear on the screen differently and slo mo analyzation of video from the 90s was how it finally got proved (last year i think?)

Give them a call, I have no doubt they will work with you. They have the tools too, just hog ring pliers and the covers come with more than enough new hog rings too.

Seat foam is pretty easy to repair if you have spare foam hanging around. The covers also come with upholstery glue which is strong shit. Glue a new piece of foam in there and reshape.

Circuit board design isn't bad at all, but it does get interesting once you start having to get high frequencies. Fortunately all the embedded design I've done is low and slow, so yay.

I hadn't heard that, but it makes sense. Never get between gamers and their high scores
