If your neighborhood is like mine, out in the old citrus groves, the new years at midnight is like a battlefield, guns going off all over the place, along with the fireworks.

New tool ...

FW Arms Auto-Centering Universal Decapping Die. Now I can decap my cases before running them through the tumbler so I don't need to worry about dirt and carbon fouling my sizing die. The primer pocket should need less manual attention as well, but I'm not holding my breath there.

 

I use the LEE universal decapper in my turret.

 

The FW Arms die supports and supposedly centers the case on top by the shoulders via a sliding sleeve sort of like the Redding Competition S-type neck sizing and seating dies. That was the selling point for me. Hopefully it works as good as the reviews say it does.

Nope. I deal with all small rifle and pistol primers...besides which those things are probably worth their 10x their weight in platinum right now, haha. I got lucky and those match grade primers that were blowing out in my 6.5 CM work fine in my AR so I have about 1800 small rifle primers and a couple hundred or so small pistol.

I'd say right now the shortages have more to do with Covid and social distancing cutting into production with a little of it being people stocking up on Armageddon supplies. Seems like we're back to the toilet paper and paper towel shortage again as well.

 

Looking to buy an SCAR 17s, found one place that had one, wanted $1000 over MSRP, and arms list is being shit.

 

Im ok but could always use some more. I heard that primers wont be back on the market until 2022.

 

I thought I got railed by a local shop when buying ammo Saturday, but judging by ammoseek, I made out a LOT better than I thought lol

 

Not that surprising considering the state of everything. S&W MP15 are flying off the shelves here for $1k.

 

Holy shit I think I paid $399 for mine way back when.

 

I seem to recall there being a shortage of powder most of last year, in particular Hodgdon powders since they come from Oz. Most of the other stuff was available though (brass, bullets, primers). Now everything is on backorder. Beyond that, I was out of the game for a while so I can't honestly say I noticed any election cycle timed shortages. I do remember the .22LR shortage though. That kinda boggled my mind.

I agree with you though, I think the stress of pandemic is causing people to be more stupid than normal. Had the cops show up at two different houses on my street on Xmas day due to domestic disturbances. That's never happened before on my street. What happened to peace on earth and good will towards each other?

Weird, because I was at both Carrollwood Publix and Walmart on Dale Maybry (not the Publix next to the Walmart though...still kicking myself for that bit of brain failure) 3 or 4 days ago and neither had my type of TP (or much selection of other types) and the shelves were looking pretty empty in both places. Maybe I just hit it on the wrong day.

Brightside...At least we have SCOTUS on our side for a good long time now. Otherwise, I'm deeply concerned for our 2A rights.
