This is now my favorite post on TW. A brand new pickup truck with a big empty bed and this guy lays down the passenger seat to carry a box home. A box that contains his bed mat.

Alanis Morissette should sing a song about this.

(A little lighthearted but somewhat deserved ribbing, OP.)

Well, looks like this thread will all but shut down my burgeoning black market bed mat business....

Maybe OP wanted to transport in the cab so it didn't get stolen out of the bed! Lol

Joking aside, stuff does get stolen out of truck beds. Rolled up bed mat probably easier to steal than laid out mat.

    Hope you're good sport, OP.

The bed mat installation fee is similar to the "checking of the floor mats for proper fit" - an item that the dealer sneaks into every service package. They probably charge a full man-hour for that.

Mine slid out while we unloaded a big bench last night. Thanks again @Gunshot-6A for being there to help reinstall the bed mat, totally saved me.

Thread started as a bed mat thread and at page 10 we're talking about ammo. Guess I'm reading all 10 pages!

Edit: read all 10 pages. Poop thread.

After years of observation I think I finally cracked the formula for starting a dumpster thread.
Step 1- find something that no one would think of doing, like putting shoes on before your pants. Assume everyone else does it this way.
Step 2- ask a question thats related to troubleshooting a symptom of step 1. "How do you guys keep mud out of the inside of your pants?" Or " looking for tips on how to mod my pant cuffs to fit steel toes. Anyone else do this?"
Step 3-obstinately insist that you aren't looking for a lifestyle change, you're just trying to find a solution to keep mud out of your pant legs. Defend yourself for a solid 2 or 3 pages, and at that point there should be enough embers to stoke a full on dumpster fire.:bananadead:

So, anyone come up with a sock like device to temporarily go over your shoes, for the purpose of putting on pants? :anonymous:

I've posted this before, but here it is again for the benefit of new members to Tacoma World:

The Tacoma World "Friday Thread" appears to be a phenomenon whereby an OP (Original Poster) asks a question at some point during a Friday (and it has to be on a Friday to be a true Friday Thread) and the question gets answered (sometimes over and over and over...). Whereupon, the thread then tends to digress from the originally asked question and can take some interesting directions. Occasionally, Friday Threads have been known to start earlier in the week, but these are not truly Friday Threads. Friday Threads are usually fun to follow for a day or two.

Here is a good example of a Tacoma World Friday thread from March 2019:

It was rolled up and in a bag, so I didn't want it to roll out the side of the bed and I didn't want to take the time to strap it down, so I put it up front. With the seat lowered it fit in just nicely.

Yes if everybody does the bolt mod then it will cut down on the problems. You need 2 people to do it but it only costs like $4. The stainless steel hardware is expensive.

Yes, I was not worried about it getting stolen on the way home, but concerned it might roll out. It was springy so if I did a fast turn it could have bounced over the wheel well.
