We need to chat! I have a basic setup for trail comms, but would like my road system to be as good as it can be. Yes, I passed my test with flying colors but even a blind squirrel can find a nut if he studies enough. I need to play with it more, and see how far I can actually reach out with it.

Hop in the HAM radio thread! There's a lot smarter folks than I in there. I set stuff up to fit my needs, but left a lot on the table range-wise.

Mine whistles. Vibration seems easier to fix. Tighten it? Is that a load panel up there? Might be that that is vibrating since it is thin metal.

triple checked all bolts. Standard setup with deflector in center two mount points. Load panels in the #2 and #4 load bar spaces. Even put the plastic edge things on the panels which makes them pretty snug.

Emailed CBI. I’ve never had any dealings with them that didn’t end in great customer support. They are good peeps. I’m confident We will find the problem.

Good luck! keep us posted. I have had good luck with them in my tacoma, but terrible support when I had their 4runner rack, which I'm pretty sure to this day is poorly designed still. Their tacoma rack is just better.

I just installed my Cab Rack on my Tacoma and I’m running into compatibility frustration with my Thule Hull-a-port XT kayak racks.
The Prinsu cross bars seem a bit too tall for the clamps on the rack to grab adequately. It fits, but it seems like a little pressure from the side of the Thule will make it fall off.

Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions?

Good point. In the attached photos, you can see that the side clamps don’t get a ton of ‘traction’ on the cross bars and don’t wrap around the bottom of the bar much.
The Thule had thick rubber feet in the clamps and I thought I might be able to get more traction on them with thinner rubber, so in the photos you can see I used a bike tube instead. Still not quite enough.

    Thanks for any help/advice.

Not sure how those clamps are mounted to the kayak rack itself, but maybe you can bolt them directly to the Prinsu instead of the clamps? Very secure that way

I see, so those crank down from the side like a c-clamp correct? A lot of Thule stuff is only designed for their bars, and the prinsu bars are not like any other bar on the market. I have a Thule sup taxi that has rubber straps that wrap below the bar and tighten down. I had to modify the top par that sits on the bar to keep it from twisting.

I would investigate what the poster above said and see if you can attack directly to the bar. Also look to see if they make a mount for the t-slot since the Thule aero blades have a slot in them.

Thanks! I appreciate the input. Yes, they are a “C” shape that tightens from the side.

I had these on my stock 4Runner cross bars just fine, but they were more “aerodynamic” in shape, vs. the squared off, taller Prinsu cross bars.

I’ll see what I can come up with and let everyone know.

Worst case, I’ll keep these on the 4Runner and pick up some new racks for the Tacoma. It’s always such a shame to have to shop for new gear, eh? Hehe.

If you do need to shop, it's not cheap, but a lot of frontrunner mounts and accessories can be made to fit the prinsu pretty easily.

Not sure if this counts in this thread since it’s not really a ‘Prinsu’, but big thanks to everyone that responded to my questions the last few weeks:

Wow, that looks impressive, you copied it right down to the mystery 5 hole cross on the front.

Does anyone know what this hole pattern is for?

Can mount another crossbar in pretty much any orientation to work with a lightbar. I think I use those to mount my bar.
