we got some last year, but today was something different. I’d have to google the numbers but it was pretty good snowfall today.

So you've not seen a map lately, right? The northern half gets snow every single year.

Triple C, nice views you have there. What general area of Texas are you in? That looks a lot like my beloved hill country out west of San Marcos.

This! I'm a tad bit north of you out in Joppa/Bertram. Good stuff and the most snow I've seen since the 80s. And you've came highly recommended by some folks I know so you'll see that toyota in your shop eventually. BUT, we'll need to discuss Gig'em vs hook'em before any bidness takes place. :D

Ha! No worries. We all got to get along until we meet on the football field again. :D Gosh dang that needs to happen again one of these years.

I may stop by your shop one of these days to introduce myself and shake your hand.

Edit to stopping by: And get a game plan in place for some upgrades. No rock crawling but traveling with fairly heavy loads. It's my "DD" but I no longer commute so it sits until the next adventure or runs to Hm Depot or HEB.

Yeah man, stop on by whenever. Give me a heads up though. I'm usually in the garage weekends all day.

Depends. TxDot doesn't have plows further south, but they did pre treat the highways with brine spray.

Pic from the inside of the truck heading down SW Pkwy arouind 1:30pm yesterday. Several cars were simply parked on the side going nowhere, and I did get to use my traction boards and a shovel to get a 2WD F150 moving again back in the tire tracks of the other vehicles ... fun day in TX.

To the post above -- we have VERY little equipment so it shuts down. Today would be a no-school day for the kids b/c it froze overnight but I fear COVID forever ended the TX no-school day since we can just do everything remote.

I'm in chicago area and yes they use that stuff too seems to work pretty good when very light snow or freezing rain but with 4 inches like you guys got it does not do much.

    Right on and will do.

@chigolf Yes many of us Texans don't know how to drive in the snow/ice crapola so most things get shut down - schools and gubbermint in particular. So many stories us Texans could share with you on some of the crazy shiat folks do when driving in ice/snow down here. Like Texoma says above TxDot does prep our bridges/overpasses when this stuff arrives.
