I hope everyone else's year has started off better than mine. I usually dont post drama but 3 days before Christmas I lost my 63yo uncle due to cancer, wife & I tested positive for covid 10 days ago, she was hospitalized for a day. We both are over our 10 day quarantine and feeling better now. Then the worse happened, my cousin's blind 21yo stepson Cody (that he raised since he was just a kid) was murdered on his front lawn at his house in Rosedale for no reason by a pos drug addict neighbor. Even tho Cody was completely blind due to Battens disease he didn't let that slow him down one bit. He loved the outdoors, specially my cabin where he would shoot his guns, ride shotgun with me in my SxS & BS around the firepit. He was also into wrestling and working out. It was a relief to finally be back at work today to keep my mind occupied.

OV tune update: @dave5623 is a super nice guy and took about 15 mins from start to finish to flash my ECU. He’s got everything you need to get it done. I chose the 91 octane and 33” tire tune. (You can pick whatever depending your setup and what fuel you choose to run)

The truck drives 100% different. The shifts are VERY smooth. (You can barely feel them) and I feel like I only have to press the throttle 15% and the truck just goes now. I saw a 2mpg increase in my MPGs on the drive home but I think I read it takes about 500-1000 miles to learn your driving habits again. I’m also finishing up a tank of mid grade so should see improvement once I get a full tank of premium.
The shift points are also more refined. Usually when I’m in cruise control and hit the slightest incline it would drop two gears to compensate trying to maintain speed. No more of that. Truck feels like it should now and couldn’t be happier. If you’ve got a 3rd gen Tacoma this is a must do mod. Shoot David a message and get tuned! He’s local to the ellicott city area.

Nice upgrade! I've been researching tunes for my SxS. Improved shifting, more performance and lower engine temps.

It’s pretty amazing what you can do with just a laptop now for pretty much all engines.

In my VW days, you could get an additional 180hp out of just a tune.

Good to hear. This and the ECU TSB for 2020s is on my short list. Just bought those new tires and SPC UCAs... so it’ll be a while before I can get the tunes.
