.5 and friends...I normally shave every day but might skip a day now and then. It's a work expectation for emergency response duties and SCBA mask seal. I used to have a mustache from age 15 about then shave that off when it started to go gray:rofl:now I'm going bald pretty much.

Left front wheel bearing was bad. I didn’t know most of the inner one was missing

I love seeing the progress on this! You are very similar to me it seems. Get something old and abused like that and rip it all apart and give it a new lease on life. I usually do that with vehicles, but same concept.

I usually wind up with stuff that needs repair, I like working on things. I want it to be mechanically sound, I don't really care what things look like as long as they get me to where I want to go

Broke out the CAD (cardboard assisted design) (thanks Greg ;)) and almost done with this oil cooler guard. Now to make some tabs for the bolt holes.

When I started growing my facial hair at 19, my cheeks and sideburns were patchy so I kept it trimmed to a goatee, albeit a long one. Then in college (I was an RA) I decided to shave it off at the beginning of warmer weather when I got a short haircut. Within ten feet of leaving my room, a fellow RA told me I looked like I shouldn't be allowed near kids clean shaven. I brushed it off thinking "it's just one person, no big deal." By the end of the day I'd heard that ten more times from students and even faculty. The beard has never left since.

This is why welding is so cool, I cant use Quartz glassblowing skills to fix anything that I actually encounter in my day to day life. I bet knowing how to weld is worse than having a truck in terms of people calling for favors lol.

You learn not to highlight those skills after getting hot weld BBs in your ear while doing frame repair on your friend's daughter's car....

In my case it was not that bad most of my work was out of town for years .

Where I live it is not uncommon that people can weld in the country things break it becomes a needed skill.

Not that I never had to fix there attempts at welding those days trying to Weld Aluminum to steel that never seemed to work for some reason go figure .

I must say the 50 Ton press was used far more for other peoples projects then mine.

That is why I am unable to weld with out ear plugs.

At least they keep the sparks out of the ear canal .

I get some comments if I ever see a strange Doctor The were you abused as a Child.
