Besides always driving in S mode is there any mods to avoid 6th gear engaging? It seems to be a useless gear unless you're traveling on a long level road, because at any sign of the slightest uphill grade it downshifts one sometimes two gears. And it seems like the transmission is in a hurry to shift as quickly as possible into 6th.
Yeah and before some of you say "get a manual", I didn't want one!

You need to do both front and rear when you re-gear, correct?

Sixth gear does amazing stuff for me on my frequent drive down the I-17 from 7,000 ft to Sea Level. Back uphill is S4 anyways, so I am glad that sixth is there for me on the way down.

Correct. I was joking a bit, however; I don't know of any way to keep it out of 6th without S mode.

I feel having the transmission in ECT mode helps reduce the amount of shifting between gears.

Yes I know, and those shift points IMO are better than the standard shifts point, as each gear has a larger/broader RPM levels.

Ok I won’t say trade it for a manual, but the gears in the manual make a huge difference

Only way is to keep in S mode. Otherwise it’s gunna try 6th.

how fast are you going on the freeway?

    $$ options:
    Try Ov tune
Or try regearing 4.88 (looks like your tires are close to stock size)

You have a 2018 - look into getting your ECU updated to the latest version. And if that doesnt work, look into VFTune.

I cant believe that I'm the first person here to say that.

Edit: 2nd person. Missed it by that much.

Easy just don’t hit the clutch and shift into 6th.
