"The EarthRoamer LTi distills the knowledge we have gained from building more than 260 Expedition Vehicles since 1998."

There's the reason for the price. Basically a boutique low-volume outfit making 11 vehicles per year. Gulfstream builds more private jets than that...

To put things in perspective, Toyota builds 27 Tacomas per hour.

    Full brake job complete!

New rear pads, drums, brake cylinders, self adjusters, spring kit on both sides. New pads on the front as well.

Now to replace the entire rear suspension. Both Bilstein 5100's on the back are toast, as well as what @TacooSaucee pointed out that my leaf packs are now inverted and pointing the wrong way.

    :cookiemonster:

Drive threw at timmies was slow tonight when I was getting a coffee to complete the brakes. I was behind a taco, so of course I had to jump out and give him a card. I wonder if he will show up here and chat :bananadance:

Notice how the aftermarket drums are fully machined, so they don't need the dodgy weld-on balance weights like the OE drums? :)

Icon RXT leafs in your future?

    Actually,

there have been more updates for the 16's 17 18's 19's to bring them upto the same calibrations as the 20's (even early 20's have an update out).

Shift points and hunting has been improved, slight torque increase from 2200 rpm up , fixed issues with the throttle body and a few other things.

If you're still running on the original firmware for the ECM and Tranny you will notice a significant improvement on the 16-18 years, and slight improvements on the 19-20's.

Dealers around here don't do the Health Check with Teckstream to see if your truck software is out of date.

You have to make a complaint to the dealer of a symptom like one of the TSB's and then when they say it's normal ask them to perform a health check, and it will come up that your engine and transmission software is out of date...

This thread has all the details...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

The OVtune talks about some of the changes they did in each revision of the firmware...

Thanks... I've watched quite a few on YouTube. Seems easy enough. @honkonbobo was gracious enough to offer his tool up for me to use. Just need to schedule an alignment and pick a day to do it

Are you local to them? They installed my new frame and did a fantastic job. I worked for heffners in my younger years and can whole heartedly endorse both dealerships for integrity.

Thank you so much for the offer. I am buying floor mats from @honkonbobo and he has offered the loan of his tool. I do appreciate the offer. Thanks again

A buddy of mine in london bought a o5 regular cab short box 6 speed 4x4 from the states about 10 years ago. He immediately lifted it and put 33s on it. The truck looked killer just sitting still.

I need something that will last more than 3 years

    *Edit*
Looking at Bilstein 5160's and the Icon RTX pack as suggested by Dax

I dont load my truck up very often. I mean sure once and awhile I put some wood in the back, that is like a dozen times in the last 2 years maybe. My leaf's should not have died like this so fast.

Old Man Emu EL095R Dakar pack (Medium Duty) are garbage imo :burp:

Holy shit! I can't believe the difference between the US and Canada sale figures. Yes I realize the are 9 billion more people in the US than Canada.

I find it bad when your rolling to merge with traffic and you stand on it and about 7 minutes later it finds a gear (downshifts one too many) and your fishtailing and pulling about 12000 rpm.
Also gear hunts like a mofo on the highway. Set the cruise at 118-120 and it goes out of 6th to 5th and then to 4th and hangs there till you draft someone or start down a hill. I just stop looking at the tach and watch the temp guage...lol
I'll mention it to them when I go for my final free oil change.

That’s great that you got a brand new frame and yes I am very local to them in Exeter!

My frame is in great shape as I purchased my truck from Arizona 10 years ago and I keep it soaked in oil and my fingers crossed

3" lift. $10K in TRD options. Richie's semi-hidden bumper, and soon his Elka suspension
This same issue drives me nuts about my 19 Taco. If I'm on the 401, I'm always 120 - 130... if you hit a headwind, it downshifts - I love the truck, but hate the AT.
