EDIT $52,000 TACO OFF ROAD. ACTUAL MSRP, NO DEALER MARK UP!

While looking at Toyota's website. I noticed you can actually order (get allocation) a TRD OR or Sport with an MSRP of over $50,000.
Geez...

So the price of a loaded Tacoma has literally doubled in less than twenty years? A LOADED access cab TRD Off-Road with an automatic transmission was like $25K in 2003-2004, and my uncle paid like $22K for a new S-Runner in 2002!

 

And it's not even a DCLB! In my opinion, the 5-foot beds are useless...

 

That's... Wat...

Might as well get a Tundra with that money.

Looking at it, most of those accessories can be purchased aftermarket for cheaper, even from the stealership...

 

Buyer stupidity > Buyer need

I ordered my PRO for $55 CAD back in end of October.

 

Thats spicy, waaaaay too spicy for me. Especially for not a full sized pickup

 

Because an extra few inches makes all the difference...right....that’s like me saying midsized trucks are useless you need a eight foot bed.

 

I like being able to cram almost an entire apartment worth of furniture and other stuff in the bed of my truck without the need for a bed extender!

 

Wow, I can't believe how much new vehicles are now.

 

I was planning on paying $47k for a 2021 Sport spec'd out how I wanted. That didn't include taxes or delivery fees either so over $50k. Luckily I found a used 2019 spec'd exactly how I wanted for $40k OTD.

 

Depends on the usage

In my opinion 6-foot beds are useless unless you actually need that extra foot for a very good reason.

 

And I actually did it when I drove up to Wilkes-Barre to help my cousin and her husband move into their new house!

 

The inflation across all models has been bad. My 2015 2.7L 2wd DCSB SR5 I bought May 2015 was $25k and I sold it in Dec 2018 for $22k. I just bought the same truck but a 2021 in October and it was $30k before tax and license.

 

Seems to be. And I left a few options off. Add them and the bed cover and you'd be over $51,000

 

In most situations yes, but in this case, this dealer is selling to the average person--one who does zero research on a vehicle, shows up and says, "yes i want this truck and i'm going to 'negotiate aggressively' on this ridiculous MSRP of 50k so when the dealer sells me this truck for 46k, I bent them over sideways"

It's no different than Amazon inflating MSRP on products and running 30-50% promotions. It's all a mind game

 

Its just for a couple coolers and some fire wood when I go to the beach/ranch.

 

Still no bed cover. Seems currently not to be an option on SE Toyota.
If it were you'd have an MSRP within a gnat's arss of $53,000
