I’d read several posts about how to lift the drivers seat and decided to do it. I’m only 5’5” and had a serious problem just seeing over the hood. Send short jokes! I cut a 2” square tube to 19”, drilled holes on both sides, and replaced the seat bolts with ones that are 2” longer. I chose a solid bar for stability. I also lifted the front using desert does it lifts but that might put me too high. I’ll post an update later.

Many people buy tube spacers or stack washers and a longer rear bolt. On the front SeatJacker designs make sense , worth the cost to me..and made installation so easy..approx 1 inch front
My Tacoma one inch in rear and front..Seat Jackers...comes in black and a limited orange color ...nice !
Google Seat Jackers see the photos...
2 inches...that is a lot of lift? .spacer washers you can or reduce the height more effectively...Rear..

My daughter is only 5 feet exact..the added one inch lift made a huge difference seeing over the hood and she can now see over the driver side minor..front of it..or over it..

the bar will limit stuffing things under the seat...maybe? I keep my binoculars , hand held spotlight and extra gear..with the seat higher..made a lot more room under there..

When we go fishing..we pound Rock spikes to hold our fishing poles on the rocky shore line..I always carry a small sledgehammer to pound in the spikes..(Pole holder for Ulua fishing poles..) under my seat..
See YouTube - Ulua fishing...there are sand spikes and rock spikes...my biggest is 76 lbs..Ulua..
100 + club is the goal...
    Aloha,

Dang I need a way to lower my seat! With the moon roof my head touches just enough to be irritating plus I have to duck to see under my rear view mirror. I’m only 6ft.

Interesting problem...I alway wonder why Toyota didn’t make the roof line one inch or more
    taller...
That was the first thing I notice..when I sat in the truck for the first time and many reviewers on YouTube pointed this out...many times...
6 foot and over , many ,many cars are not built to accommodate extra tall upright body’s..just design for Average... body sizes..
When you have a hard time getting in and out of any vehicle...then that vehicle is NOT for you..
We spent so much time in our trucks...comfort...is a must!
    Aloha

Remembered those two door cars..trying to get in the back seat? and Why everyone fights for front seat.. ease of getting in and out...critical..?

The complaint about a poor driver's position has been around since the intro of the Gen 2 trucks. Unfortunately, Toyota didn't change the cab or driving positions with the 3rd Gen. Lots of complaints about "sitting on the floor" all over the web and YouTube. IMHO, the cab could easily be 1-3" taller and the doors too. Then, good (i.e. 10-way) power seats should be standard--at least on the higher end models--for BOTH driver & passenger. The larger cab and better driving position are the only things I miss about the 2019 Tundra we traded in for the Pro, but I knew the Tacoma would be less comfortable in that regard.
