Hello TW, Happy Sunday. I'm hoping for some help. For a while now my truck has made a slightly high pitched little squeal and I'm sure it has to do with the transmission. I've searched all over the truck to figure out exactly where it is coming from and the only thing I can find is that it is some how related to my clutch. It has made no impact on the vehicle and has never caused a problem, that I know of. When I push the clutch in slightly, the little squeal stops. It's a hard noise to describe, to me it sounds like a hampster on a wheel, and like I said, when I just barely compress the clutch in, the nose goes away. It's worse in cold weather, but noticeable when idling any time of year. I plan to take my truck in for some service work, but I'm hoping to get an idea of what I may be dealing with, so I don't go in to a shop flying blind and get in to a mess with my truck. I've had a few bad shop experiences which is why I do the work on my truck myself and always have, but I think this is out of my realm of knowledge. Does anyone think they may know what I'm having an issue with. Is there a linkage that maybe loose? Something I can check on my own? It's the six speed tranny. Thanks for any feed back.
