Initial pick from the ground. The moment I got it set, my ears went deaf. I haven’t trained a heavy husafel much and I wasn’t ready for it. 275lbs. Made it 181ft until my grip let go.

You zone out. Atleast I did. You don’t really hear anyone or think of anyone around you. You have to focus so hard on your breathing and lifting that you don’t have anything else on your mind.

    I can kinda see that.

When I have done road races I really hate spectators. I hate lazy ass people standing/sitting on the side lines cheering me on. Like what does your lazy ass know about what I'm doing enough to motivate me? Fuck you.
I hope COVID has put pretty much an end to that shit. But I don't plan on returning to much road running anytime soon so guess it doesn't really effect me.

Trail runs I like the seclusion and lack of spectators and people watching.

Yes sir! 1 year was straight up dieting and lifting to burn calories. Then I got into strongman and spent a year ( minus 3 months due to covid) training strongman and here we are. I will have to say I have a LOOONNNGG road ahead but I think being raised on a farm and carrying feed sacks and hay from a young age gave me a head start in this stuff since it’s all heavy and awkward lifts.

But I rarely missed a workout or meal. I’ve been going 4 days a week since April and even when traveling, I made sure to get it in. I’m pretty dedicated to this and wanna go far.

Now we just need @strengthordie to do a Strongman Corp show instead of USS and we can all meet up at Nationals this year.

That’s awesome. I wish I had access to a gym with the strongman equipment and/or a dedicated group of Olympic lifters. I think I would really enjoy it and the competition aspect would be great motivation.

My current goal is “not die before 50” and that isn’t great for motivation . I really need to find something that drives me to get after it. Having constant competition is something I miss from my time in the army and high school sports.

True true. I just realized one of the guys I beat(came in 4th place) won North Carolina’s strongest man 200 class in 2019 lol. Wild how that works.

I’m not a fan of Dione Masters. She shits on everybody but heavyweights and just takes everyone’s membership and entry dough instead of creating better opportunities etc.
It’s not like there is much difference in USS.
Maybe if I can get outside AK to qualify.

I have heard that about her.

Maybe I'll do a USS show this year.

Do this one. I think I’m gonna do it. Gives me a few months to prepare for it.
